This is a pivotal moment: the core is proven (90% of cash transactions reconciled in one day), and now the platform is being connected end-to-end across fund financials, tax, and LP reporting. --- ## Focus Areas You’ll be hired into the Investors business unit, then matched to a focus area based on your strengths and interests: - **Fund Financials:** Ledger, expense allocation, and cash reconciliation—get the numbers right automatically, at scale. - **Tax and Compliance:** K-1s, KYC, and audit trails—compliance as code instead of checklist. - **LP Management and Reporting:** Capital calls, distributions, PCAPs, and tearsheets—turn quarterly reporting from a scramble into a query. --- ## The Problems You’ll Solve As a **Senior Software Engineer II** in Investors, you’ll lead technically complex projects and act as a multiplier for your team. You’ll work to: - **Drive Implementation:** Lead complex technical projects from concept to production with high standards for performance and reliability. - **Simplify Systems:** Identify opportunities to simplify code and infrastructure with measurable business impact. - **Leverage Modern Tooling:** Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve code quality and focus on high-level logic and unconventional problems. - **Foster Growth:** Mentor and coach through diligent PR reviews and architectural guidance. - **Collaborate Cross-Functionally:** Partner with product and design to build the *right* solution for users—not just follow specifications. --- ## About You - **Tech Stack:** Experience with (or desire to learn) **Python, Django, React, Postgres, and Kafka**. Also uses **Java, gRPC, and AWS**. - **Execution:** Break down complex user stories into actionable tasks and execute with minimal guidance. - **Strategic Mindset:** Understand the “why” behind your code and communicate technical trade-offs. - **Experience:** We recommend **8+ years** of professional software engineering experience for this level. --- ## Salary Carta’s minimum cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is: - **$212,500 – $250,000 (New York, NY)** Final offers may vary based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors. --- ## Disclosures - Carta is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to a positive interview experience.
