Senior PLM Software Engineer, Manufacturing Systems
Anduril Industries · Costa Mesa, California, United States
About this role
**Senior PLM Software Engineer, Manufacturing Systems** ## About Anduril Anduril Industries is a defense technology company on a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by **Lattice OS**, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center. ## About the Team (Maritime Digital Production) **Maritime Digital Production (MDP)** is the software and digital systems function within Anduril’s Heavy Metal division. MDP builds the **software-defined shipyard**—the full technology stack that makes shipbuilding factories visible and adaptive in real time. MDP operates at the boundary between **Operational Technology (OT)** and **Information Technology (IT)**. Systems live where factory-floor machines, edge compute, and OT networks meet enterprise platforms and cloud infrastructure. When MDP systems go down, **production stops**—so reliability and security are critical. ## About the Job MDP is building the **manufacturing digital thread** connecting engineering release to factory-floor machines and inspection systems. You will own the **development and integration layer between Teamcenter and Anduril’s ArsenalOS platform**, so CAM programs, CAI/CMM programs, tools/fixtures, and inspection results move automatically instead of by hand. ## What You’ll Do - Build and own integrations that carry **CAM and CAI data** from Teamcenter to the shop floor (including **NX CAM outputs**, **DNC dispatch** to machine controls, and return path for **as-run data**). - Develop custom **Teamcenter extensions** using **ITK** and **SOA**, including **BMIDE data model changes** and **Active Workspace** interfaces. - Close the inspection loop by integrating **CAI** and **metrology** systems so measured results land back in the digital thread as structured data. - Automate **EBOM → MBOM propagation** and model-based definition data flow into downstream manufacturing and quality systems. - Unblock partner teams (scheduling, applied AI, manufacturing systems) by exposing manufacturing data through **APIs**. - Partner with manufacturing engineers and factory operators to translate workflows into software requirements. - Write production-quality code with comprehensive tests; participate in code review and architecture discussions. - Deploy and operate systems in factory environments, including **edge compute clusters** and **OT networks**. - Leverage AI tooling (coding assistants, automation) and contribute to team engineering practices. - Join an **on-call rotation** supporting production factory systems. ## Required Qualifications - **8+ years** of software engineering experience building production systems (fast-paced environments preferred). - **Teamcenter development expertise**: **5+ years** hands-on with **ITK** and **SOA** customization in **C++ and Java**, plus **BMIDE data modeling** and **Active Workspace**. - Experience building **custom Teamcenter handlers, services, and integrations** (not just configuring workflows/templates). - Working knowledge of manufacturing data domains: **CAM, CAI, CMM, NC programming outputs**, machine dispatch, metrology/inspection data, and **EBOM/MBOM** relationships. - Experience authoring **NX Open** programs to automate NX/Design Center workflows. - Strong fluency in modern architectures, **APIs**, distributed systems, **CI/CD**, and cloud/edge infrastructure. - Ability to buil
