**Director, AI Platforms — Life360** ## About Life360 Life360’s mission is to keep people close to the ones they love. Our category-leading mobile app, Tile tracking devices, and Pet GPS tracker help members protect the people, pets, and things they care about most—through services like location sharing, safe driver reports, and crash detection with emergency dispatch. Undisclosed use of AI not previously discussed with or approved by your Recruiter may impact your candidacy. ## About the Team The **AI Platforms** team builds the shared foundation that enables Life360 to use AI quickly and safely—powering AI adoption and productivity across the company (model access, agent tooling, and the infrastructure engineers rely on daily). You’ll work alongside teams reshaping how Life360 builds with agents, and help carry these AI foundations into the future AI product strategy. ## About the Job As **Director of AI Platforms**, you’ll lead a defining shift: from supporting how Life360 works with AI to powering how AI shows up for our members. You’ll be a critical leader in the evolution of our **agentic product development lifecycle (PDLC)**—turning early momentum into shared platforms, paved roads, and measurable results. You’ll also shape how the platform supports **AI inference** and **AI-powered features** within our product. You’ll report to the **Chief Information Security Officer** with close partnership across leadership. **Compensation (US):** $216,500–$318,500 base salary range. Total compensation includes **RSUs** and a comprehensive benefits package. ## What You’ll Do - Set the direction for the AI Platforms team with a roadmap balancing today’s internal needs and where the product is going - Lead and scale the team to full capacity through strategic hiring and development - Build and evolve the shared AI platform: model access & routing, agent runtime, MCP integrations, evals, agent identity, and cost controls - Define and own AI end-user platforms enabling a multiplayer ecosystem working alongside agents - Partner with core teams to evolve the Agentic PDLC (tools, environments, review practices, workflows for planning, writing, testing, reviewing, and shipping code) - Extend the platform from internal productivity to the product—defining how teams access, run, and monitor AI inference and AI features in production at member scale - Drive adoption by making the right way the easy way (paved paths, reusable skills/components, champions, enablement) - Partner with Security, Privacy, and Legal to build data handling, auditability, and safeguards from day one - Define and report outcomes that matter (adoption, quality, cost per outcome, time to ship)—not just usage counts - Stay close to the work: review designs, unblock teams, and make build-versus-buy decisions as the model/tooling landscape changes ## What We’re Looking For - **10+ years** of engineering experience - **5+ years** leading engineering teams building platforms or infrastructure used by other engineers - Experience building and operating production AI systems (agentic workflows, LLM integrations, retrieval, evaluation)
