Trusted by 1,300+ organizations and 200,000+ developers, Deepgram powers voice offerings from companies including Twilio, Cloudflare, and others. ### Opportunity Deepgram is seeking a **Senior Applied Engineer** to join the **Applied Engineering** team in a **Solutions Engineer** role focused on **federal customers**. You’ll embed with strategic federal accounts to lead complex deployments of Deepgram’s Voice AI platform in production environments where mission performance matters and delivery is urgent. You will own the full technical lifecycle—from **discovery** and **proof-of-concept** through **production deployment** and **ongoing optimization**—mapping customer problems, structuring delivery, and shipping solutions that create measurable mission impact. **Location:** Remote, based in the **Washington, D.C. metropolitan area**. --- ### What You’ll Do - Own technical delivery across federal deployments (prototype → stable production) - Embed with federal customers to design and build mission-critical applications powered by Deepgram - Lead technical discovery and solution design for federal prospects/customers - Prototype and build full-stack integrations using **Python, JavaScript, Rust**, or comparable stacks - Enable successful deployments by delivering observable systems across infrastructure and applications - Guide stakeholders on maximizing operational value (performance optimization, deployment strategies) - Scope work, sequence delivery, and remove blockers early with deliberate trade-offs - Build relationships with customer leadership and technical stakeholders to ensure deployment and scale - Contribute directly to code when clarity or momentum depends on it - Codify patterns into tools, playbooks, reference architectures, and reusable building blocks - Share field feedback with Product and Engineering to influence model/product development - Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues - Analyze deployment patterns to identify product improvement opportunities and inform federal go-to-market strategy --- ### Time Allocation - **40%** Embedded customer delivery (deployments, integrations, technical problem-solving) - **25%** Pre-sales technical engagement (discovery, demos, proof-of-concepts, proposal support) - **20%** Reusable solutions (automation, documentation, reference architectures) - **15%** Internal collaboration (product feedback, knowledge sharing, Applied Engineering strategy) --- ### Your First 90 Days **First 30 Days** - Onboarding to Deepgram technology/products and competitive landscape - Become proficient with core APIs and documentation - Shadow active commercial and federal engagements **60 Days** - Take ownership of federal engagements - Lead technical discovery and develop proof-of-concepts - Contribute to federal technical content (reference architectures, deployment guides) - Support sales strategy with technical insights **90 Days** - Own the full technical relationship with assigned federal accounts - Deliver complex solutions for mission challenges - Establish repeatable patterns for federal deployments and contribute to federal go-to-market methodology --- ### You’ll Love This Role If You - Thrive in high-ambiguity,
