About this role

## Privacy Operations Lead ### Company Overview Deepgram is the leading platform underpinning the emerging Voice AI economy, providing real-time APIs for speech-to-text (STT), text-to-speech (TTS), and building production-grade voice agents at scale. Deepgram’s voice-native foundation models are accessed through cloud APIs or as self-hosted and on-premises software. ### Operating Rhythm - **AI-first mindset**: AI use and comfort aren’t optional—they’re core to how teams operate, innovate, and measure performance. - **Experiment and adapt quickly**: You’ll be expected to adopt new models and modes, integrate AI into workflows, and continuously push what these technologies can do. - **Move at the pace of AI**: Change is rapid; day-to-day work evolves quickly. ### The Opportunity Deepgram is looking for a **Privacy Operations Lead** to own the operational backbone of its privacy program. Deepgram processes audio—often among the most sensitive data customers hold—across multiple deployment models, including: - **Hosted with model-improvement opted in** - **Hosted with model-improvement opted out** (effectively zero data retention) - **Single-tenant Deepgram Dedicated** deployments with regional data residency - **Fully self-hosted** deployments running in the customer’s own environment Hosted services run primarily on Deepgram’s **bare-metal infrastructure** in colocation datacenters, with **AWS used for overflow capacity** and a small set of services—so understanding where data lives requires knowing **datacenters**, not just a cloud console. ### What You’ll Do - Own, in operational detail, **how data moves** through each deployment model. - Turn that knowledge into durable, reusable artifacts such as: - data flow maps - records of processing - assessment templates - playbooks - self-service guidance for Legal, Engineering, and Sales Engineering - Serve as the **technical voice** in enterprise customer privacy reviews. ### Role Focus This is **not** a policy-writing role. Approximately: - **~50%** assessment and advisory - **~50%** designing and operating the processes and tooling that make privacy claims **repeatable and verifiable** When verification requires reading code or inspecting infrastructure, you will: - define what must be proven - partner with **Security** and **Engineering** to prove it - you are **not** expected to perform the engineering work yourself *Note: The provided description appears truncated at the end of the role summary.*
