As we build a new Ads business and evolve Marketplace into a best-in-class shopping experience, improving Search is one of our highest-leverage investments. **What You’ll Do** - Work on tasks that contribute to your team’s projects and goals. - Collaborate proactively with your team and stakeholders—creating visibility and dialogue around risks and trade-offs. - Balance speed and quality to hit business goals while protecting systems from downtime. - Contribute to team community through growth and development activities. **What We Look For** - Prior work or internship experience with JavaScript/TypeScript. - Prior work or internship experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale; experience with Python or Kotlin. - Ability to turn simple problems/business scenarios into solutions that interact with multiple software components—writing clear, well-tested, extensible code. - Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging others’ code, and providing feedback through code reviews. - Ownership of your growth—proactively seeking feedback from your team, manager, and stakeholders. - Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team. - Requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. **Compensation & Location** - **Base Pay Grade:** J - **Equity Grade:** 5 - **USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT):** $130,000 - $180,000/year - **USA base pay range (all other U.S. states):** $115,000 - $165,000/year - **#LI-Remote** **Remote-First & Benefits** - Remote-first with flexibility; most roles can be done from almost anywhere within the country of employment.
