About this role

## About Lucid At Lucid, we’re creating exceptional mobility experiences through innovation—built on Lucid’s proprietary technology and software-defined vehicle architecture. Our “Compromise Nothing™” approach means refusing to choose between performance and sustainability, design and engineering, ambition and integrity. ## Team: ADAS Data Infrastructure The ADAS Data Infrastructure team builds and operates the foundational systems that power autonomous vehicle development. We create scalable platforms, services, and data pipelines that ingest, process, store, and serve large-scale sensor data from vehicle fleets to engineering teams across the company—turning vehicle data into usable datasets for autonomous vehicle development. ## Role: Engineering Manager, Data Infrastructure We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the team that builds the data platform supporting autonomous vehicle development. You’ll set technical direction and own delivery and operations of high-scale data pipelines and backend services for camera, LiDAR, and vehicle telemetry data. You will: - Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers (hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and feedback) - Own the roadmap, prioritization, and delivery of data ingestion, processing, storage, and serving platforms - Support the architecture for Python and AWS-based backend services, APIs, and data tooling (review designs and drive best practices) - Own reliability, observability, performance, and cost of production services - Partner with internal customers (ADAS, perception, ML, and data engineering) and external vendors to gather requirements and set expectations - Manage storage, compute, and data movement budgets and capacity planning - Drive CI/CD, infrastructure automation (IAC), and operational excellence across the platform - Plan resourcing and run planning/execution rituals; report status, risks, and progress to senior leadership - Build a culture of ownership, quality, and collaboration—staying hands-on enough in code and design reviews to guide technical decisions ## Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) - 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing or technically leading engineering teams - Track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing engineers - Strong technical background in Python and building/operating backend services, distributed systems, or large-scale data platforms - Experience with AWS, IAC tools like Terraform / OpenTofu, and deploying applications to Kubernetes - Experience with Airflow (or similar workflow orchestrators) and designing data pipelines / ETL / data processing frameworks - Experience with containerized applications, microservices, and event-driven systems - Experience owning production services, incident management, and operational metrics - Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams and influence stakeholders ## Preferred - Experience in autonomous driving or automotive industry, especially backend and cloud development - Strong ownership mindset; experience driving projects from design through production operations - Experience building distributed systems or data platforms processing large-scale datasets in cloud environments - Experience managing budgets or cloud cost optimization - Experience managing teams that serve M
