About this role
**Senior Security Engineer — Security Incident Response Team (SIRT)** Datadog’s Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) helps keep Datadog safe from cybersecurity threats by defending the organization and maintaining customer trust through strong protection of customer data. In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally to identify, triage, and respond to a wide range of threats—helping contain incidents as quickly as possible. You’ll also build tools and systems that improve effectiveness, and drive cross-functional learning from incidents to strengthen Datadog’s defensive posture. **What you’ll do** - Partner with Cyber Threat Intelligence and Detection Engineering to identify threats and ensure high-signal, accurate detections - Triage escalated alerts to determine whether an incident is occurring or may occur imminently - Respond to security incidents (as an incident commander or incident responder) - Build tools and automations to eliminate repetitive processes and improve efficiency - Improve security posture through post-incident reviews, tabletop and purple team exercises, and process/runbook improvements - Participate in a light on-call rotation **Who you are** - 5+ years of experience in security incident response, threat hunting, security operations, cloud security, or similar operational security domains - Experience with at least one public cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform) - Strong understanding of cloud-native threat actor TTPs and corresponding defensive controls; stay current via blogs, whitepapers, and conference talks - Experience using a wide range of technologies and datasets to detect threats in cloud and enterprise environments - Experience building and supporting incident response/forensics tools using Python, Go, or similar languages **Datadog culture & work style** - Hybrid workplace - Values collaboration, relationships, and creativity **Benefits & growth** - Generous and competitive benefits package - RSUs and employee stock purchase plan - Continuous career development and pathing opportunities - Best-in-class onboarding, internal mentor & buddy program - Friendly and inclusive workplace culture **Compensation (estimated)** - $192,000 — $240,000 USD (yearly), plus competitive salary/equity and may include variable compensation **About Datadog** Datadog is the leading observability and security platform for the AI era, providing unified visibility across the technology stack to manage complexity at scale. **Equal Opportunity** Datadog is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants regardless of protected characteristics and in accordance with legal requirements.
