## Senior Software Engineer — HIL Infrastructure ### Mission Summary Join Motional’s Hardware in the Loop (HIL) Infrastructure team to scale and automate offboard testing workflows—making them thorough, efficient, and reliable. You’ll work hands-on with HIL infrastructure, physical bench hardware, and AV software, improving simulations, interfacing with hardware testing, and strengthening the AV software release process. ### What you’ll be doing - Contribute to accessible, representative offboard HIL testing for cross-functional teams - Help ensure offboard testing is as representative as possible to support safe autonomous deployment - Advance infrastructure HIL simulations - Automate HIL bench health, accessibility, and reliability - Implement release management automation to define compatible software builds between components - Partner with operations to respond to release blockers and prevent recurrence - Mine data for insights into deficiencies, errors, and optimization opportunities - Support HIL bench maintenance to keep critical pipelines active and successful ### What we’re looking for - 5+ years working in **Linux** - 5+ years writing **Python** - 5+ years with **Git** and **CI/CD** - 3+ years interfacing with **databases** (example: **SQL**, **Postgres**, **Trino**) - 2+ years working with **C++** - 2+ years working with **hardware**, **sensors**, and **low-voltage electrical** systems - Familiarity/experience with **Vehicle CAN** and interfacing within Python automation - Electrical familiarity for HIL bench connections and setup - Strong written and oral communication skills - Experience working in cross-functional development teams (including quarterly roadmap design) - BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics (with Software option) ### Bonus points (not required) - Experience with **Cloud** services (AWS, GCP, Azure) - Hands-on simulation experience - OSC2, YAML simulation scenario experience - Autonomous driving experience - Networking familiarity (routing, VPNs, VPCs) ### Working Conditions - **Hybrid role** with some on-site HIL work and cross-team collaboration - Working directly on HIL equipment requires knowledge of basic electrical systems and safety ### About Motional Motional is a driverless technology company making autonomous vehicles a safe, reliable, and accessible reality—driven by people first and building safer roadways through inclusive, diverse teams. ### Salary Range **$149,000 – $198,500 USD** (base salary estimate) #LI-AE1
