**Overview** AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through strategic solutions in **Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training**. **Responsibilities (An average day)** As the **Systems Administrator II (Domain & Server)**, you will administer, maintain, and support enterprise IT infrastructure, including **Microsoft Server environments and domain services**. You will support critical systems such as **Active Directory, Exchange Server, DNS, and DHCP**, while administering **Windows and Linux** servers to maintain performance, security, and availability. In this role, you will: - Administer and maintain **Windows and Linux servers** to ensure availability, performance, and stability - Manage **deployment, configuration, maintenance, and patching** of operating systems and applications - Support **virtualization environments** (e.g., **NUTANIX**) for resource utilization and platform reliability - Implement and maintain **security controls** (access control, system hardening, vulnerability remediation) per policy and compliance requirements - Manage **storage solutions** (SAN, NAS) and support **backup and recovery** operations - Participate in **upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery** planning/execution - Develop and maintain **documentation** for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting - Troubleshoot **moderately complex** system issues and respond to incidents for timely resolution - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., **network, security, application**) to improve infrastructure operations **Qualifications** - **U.S. Citizen** - Must have an **active Secret clearance** with ability to obtain **Top Secret with SCI eligibility**, *or* have an **active Top Secret with SCI eligibility** (subject to a federal background investigation) - **3–5 years** of systems administration experience with hands-on **Windows and Linux** - Must hold a current **8570/8140 IAT Level II Certification** (examples: **CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP**) - Strong knowledge of **server administration, domain management, and enterprise infrastructure** - Experience managing **Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy** - Experience with virtualization (e.g., **VMware, Hyper-V**, or similar) - Experience with **SAN/NAS** and **backup/recovery** operations - Familiarity with **cloud platforms** (AWS, Azure, GCP) and **hybrid cloud** environments - Experience with automation tools such as **PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform** - Experience with monitoring tools such as **Splunk** - Experience with **Git** - Working knowledge of security frameworks/compliance (e.g., **NIST, FISMA, DISA STIG**) - Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively in a team environment **Pay Transparency** - Salary range: **$90,000.00/year – $110,000/year** - Actual compensation will be determined based on factors permitted by law. **Benefits** Comprehensive benefits program including **healthcare, paid leave, retirement plans, insurance programs, and education/training assistance**. **EEO Statement** EEO Race/Sex/Disability Status/Veteran Status
