## Quality Assurance Test Engineer ### Responsibilities - Perform end-to-end, functional, regression, and integration testing on **legacy VB.NET desktop** environments and **modern web applications**. - Validate **backend RESTful APIs** by designing, writing, and executing comprehensive test scripts (data integrity, security, and edge cases). - Evaluate and implement **modern testing tools** to optimize test generation, enable smart healing, and automate manual workflows. - Identify, document, and track defects to resolution using tools such as **Jira**, partnering with developers to reproduce complex issues. - Author detailed **test cases**, **test matrices**, and **user-acceptance criteria** based on technical documentation and legacy code logic. ### Qualifications - **2+ years** of experience with a **Bachelor’s degree**. - **2+ years** of experience in Software Quality Assurance (manual and automated). - Proven experience testing **VB.NET** applications (Windows Forms, WPF, or related .NET architecture) and understanding **legacy codebases**. - Strong background in functional and system testing for **modern, cloud-hosted web applications**. - Proficiency writing **SQL queries** for backend data validation. - Extensive hands-on experience with **Postman**, **SoapUI**, or similar API client tools. - Strong REST API testing skills (JSON payloads, HTTP status codes, authentication protocols, and endpoint performance). - Experience with automated API testing frameworks (e.g., **RestAssured**, **Newman**, or Postman automated collections). - Experience using modern tools to generate test cases, build automation fragments, and develop edge-case test ideas. ### General Requirements / Competencies - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Experience working in an **Agile/Scrum** environment. - **Local to Cranston, RI**. - Must be a **US Citizen** or **permanent resident (Green Card holder)**. ### Salary Range - **$66,000 – $106,000** (typical range; final offer depends on experience, education, skills, location, and contract/business factors). ### Company Overview (Peraton) Peraton is a next-generation national security company and enterprise IT provider delivering trusted solutions across land, sea, space, air, and cyberspace.
