Elastic Cloud (used by 50%+ of the Fortune 500) combines search precision with AI intelligence across search, security, and observability. --- ### Role Overview Billing powers Elastic’s Cloud business across AWS, GCP, and Azure in 50+ regions. You’ll help lead the **Billing Experience** team, which owns the customer-facing layer of billing systems—public/internal APIs and billing/account pages in Elastic Cloud consoles—so customers and internal teams can understand and manage billing data easily. This is a **hands-on** role driving technical direction: designing APIs, shaping user-facing systems, and improving billing services for **scale, reliability, and developer productivity**. --- ### What You’ll Do - Own complex billing and account management systems, including **public APIs**, **internal APIs**, and **Cloud console** experiences - Lead API design and evolution (standards for contract stability, versioning, and developer experience) - Build and improve full-stack features in Elastic Cloud consoles (backend services + frontend billing/account UIs) - Improve observability, incident response, and reliability using modern DevOps practices - Shape system architecture for scale and modularity (service design, API structure, data modeling) - Partner with SRE and Cloud teams to improve deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines - Serve as the go-to technical reviewer for the billing experience stack (maintain quality/consistency) - Mentor engineers and tech leads; raise the bar on design and operational standards - Work with Product, Design, and Finance to set roadmap priorities and ensure feasibility - Participate in on-call rotations; ensure production readiness via automation, resilience testing, and alerting --- ### What You Bring - **8+ years** in backend or full-stack engineering, with strong skills in **API design and development** *(Additional requirements were truncated in the provided description.)*
