About this role

## Senior Software Engineer, Backend (SIG) **Anduril Industries** is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology—bringing modern innovation to the defense industry and accelerating autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking. ### About the Team **Maritime Digital Production (MDP)** is the software and digital systems function within Anduril’s Heavy Metal division. MDP builds and deploys the full technology stack powering Anduril’s shipbuilding factories, including: - Data infrastructure for real-time visibility into machines and sensors - **ArsenalOS** manufacturing execution system for workers and planners - A scheduling engine that replans in minutes (not days) - AI systems that reduce manual toil across the shop floor and business operations MDP operates at the boundary of **Operational Technology (OT)** and **Information Technology (IT)**—incubating solutions near the production line, validating with real operators, hardening for reliability/security, and scaling across multiple sites. ### About the Job As a **Senior Full Stack Software Engineer** on the **Systems Integrity Group (SIG)** initiative, you will build **simulation and digital twin validation frameworks** to verify that manufactured output matches engineering intent. You’ll develop full-stack applications powered by **Unreal Engine 5** for 3D visualization, create **V&V automation tooling**, and build interfaces that provide engineering and operations teams data-rich, walkable views of the factory and production systems. ### What You’ll Do - Build full-stack web applications orchestrating simulation frameworks, digital twin validation, and V&V automation workflows - Develop **UE5-based 3D visualization** interfaces ingesting real-time data from the **Unified Namespace** - Partner with manufacturing engineers and factory operators to translate workflows into software requirements - Write production-quality code with comprehensive tests; participate in code review and architecture discussions - Build tooling to verify manufactured output matches engineering intent (as-built geometry, assembly sequences, quality measurements vs. design specs) - Integrate frontend/backend systems with simulation frameworks (**OMNeT++**, **SimPy**, **Gazebo**, **CARLA**) for factory co-simulation and “what-if” testing - Develop automated V&V pipelines for integration tests, validation checks, and compliance verification - Deploy and operate systems in factory environments, including edge compute clusters and OT networks - Architect data pipelines connecting CAD/PLM data, real-time sensors, and simulation results into unified visualization/validation workflows - Build responsive web interfaces for V&V dashboards, test management, requirements traceability, and validation reporting - Leverage AI tooling (coding assistants, automation) and contribute to team engineering practices - Join an on-call rotation supporting production factory systems - Collaborate cross-functionally with simulation engineers, systems architects, backend engineers, and manufacturing teams (MES/PLM/ERP/enterprise integration) ### Required Qualifications - **6+ years** building production software systems in fast-paced environments - Deep expertise in **full-stack web development** (frontend + backend) - Strong fluency in modern architectures, APIs, distributed systems, **CI/CD**, and cloud/edge infrastructure - Proficiency with web techno
