## Technical AI Requirements Systems Engineer (Mid/Senior) (Hybrid) — Java/JavaScript/AI/ML ### Overview Captivation is seeking a **Technical AI Requirements Systems Engineer** to support the planning, design, and implementation of a **mission-critical system**. You’ll work directly with customers, systems engineers, developers, and AI solution stakeholders to ensure mission-driven software capabilities are accurately defined, built, tested, and delivered. You will collaborate closely with the development team in an **Agile** environment, perform **hands-on technical execution**, and help with **low-level requirements definition** and **functional validation** of new features for an enterprise application integrating **AI-enabled capabilities**. ### Requirements **Security Clearance** - Must currently hold a **Top Secret/SCI** U.S. Government security clearance with a **favorable Polygraph** (therefore candidates must be **U.S. citizens**). **Minimum Qualifications** - **Bachelor’s degree** from an accredited college or university. - **At least 5 years** of experience performing in a **Lead System Engineer** role for a software development team. - **Master’s degree** may substitute for **2 years** of experience. **Required Skills** - Familiarity with software development using **Java or JavaScript frameworks**, **RESTful microservices**, and **cloud-based architecture/deployment** (AWS). - Ability to elicit, analyze, and document detailed **functional requirements**, converting them into technical specifications. - Ability to translate high-level requirements into **Jira user stories and epics**. - Experience conducting **functional testing** of application features. - Serve as a key technical liaison across cross-functional teams (systems engineers, developers, domain experts). - Ability to present and articulate recommended **AI approaches**, including tradeoffs and implications for technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Awareness of modern **AI/ML advancements** and ability to identify practical opportunities for enterprise applications. **Desired Skills** - Experience designing/refining technical artifacts specifically for **AI integration**. - Ability to evaluate **AI architectures**, assess model performance, and identify system-level integration tradeoffs. - Experience coordinating AI-driven solution design/development from conception to deployment, ensuring integration with existing architecture. - Staying current with AI/ML advancements and continuously seeking opportunities to improve systems and solve complex problems. ### Notes *This position is open for direct hires only.
