**Systems Engineer 3 (Watch Desk) — Jira/Confluence/Rancher/Redis/NiFi/Docker/Kubernetes/AWS/Nagios/Prometheus** ## Overview Captivation is seeking a senior-level Systems Engineer to work on the watch floor. You’ll monitor system health, availability, performance, and data pipelines; investigate alerts and incidents; perform authorized recovery actions; escalate unresolved issues; and maintain shift documentation, tickets, SOPs, metrics, and reports. You’ll also provide concise status updates and effective shift handoffs. ## Requirements ### Security Clearance - Must currently hold a **Top Secret/SCI** U.S. Government security clearance with a **favorable Polygraph** (U.S. citizen required). ### Minimum Qualifications - **20 years** experience as a Systems Engineer in programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity - Demonstrated experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts - Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline (accredited institution) - **5 additional years** of Systems Engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree - **Security+** certification (or willingness to attain within **6 months**) ### Required Skills - Experience with **RTRG Mission analytics** operations and use - Monitoring **OS and applications** - Troubleshooting **OS/applications** and escalating as required - Troubleshooting **dataflow** and escalating as required - Troubleshooting **network issues** and escalating as required - Ability to read and interpret system graphs to determine correct operations - Strong written and verbal communication - Ability to dissect complex issues and produce concise, accurate status updates - Ability to generate **metrics and reports** from disparate data sources - Ability to generate **SOPs** for Watch Desk and/or customers - Ability to lead small teams of Watch Desk shift personnel - Ability to direct and provide meaningful guidance to teammates - Ability to maintain schedules as required ### Tools/Tech (Required) - **Linux** and command-line proficiency - **Jira, Confluence, Rancher, Elasticsearch, Redis, NiFi, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS** - Virtualization - Monitoring tools such as **Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus** ## Notes *This position is open for direct hires only.
