About this role
## Overview Captivation is looking for a **Senior Software Engineer** to design, implement, and optimize **data ingress/egress pathways** to ensure efficient, scalable, and reliable processing of analytics workloads. ## Requirements ### Security Clearance - Must currently hold a **Top Secret/SCI** U.S. Government security clearance with a **favorable Polygraph** - **U.S. citizen** required ### Minimum Qualifications - **Master’s** in Computer Science (or related) + **5 years** experience as a SWE (similar scope/type/complexity) **OR** - **Bachelor’s** in Computer Science (or related) + **7 years** experience as a SWE (similar scope/type/complexity) **OR** - **9 years** experience as a SWE (similar scope/type/complexity) ### Required Skills - Experience using the **Linux CLI** and Linux tools - Experience developing **Bash scripts** to automate manual processes - Recent software development experience using **Python** and **Java** - Experience with **Apache Airflow** (DAG design, scheduling, operators, sensors) to orchestrate/monitor workflows - Experience with distributed big data processing engines including **Apache Spark** - Familiarity with **SQL** technologies such as **MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL** - Experience using **Jupyter Notebook** - Data wrangling/preprocessing using **pandas** and **NumPy** - Experience working with **structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data** (e.g., Parquet, JSON, CSV, XML) - Familiarity with **data quality**, **data validation**, and **anomaly detection** - Experience with **Git** source control ### Desired Skills - Familiarity with **HPC job scheduling** tools including **Slurm** - Experience with **Atlassian** tools including **Jira** and **Confluence** ## Notes - **Direct hires only** — candidates from **third-party staffing/recruiting firms** will not be considered. ## Benefits - **Annual Salary:** $130,000 - $270,000 (depends on years of experience) - **401(k):** up to **20% contribution** (no matching required; vested from day 1) - **Above market hourly rates** - **$3,600 HSA contribution** - **6 weeks paid time off** - Company-paid **medical/dental/vision**, **life insurance**, **short-term & long-term disability**, and **AD&D**
