Captivation is looking for software developers who can get stuff done while making a difference in support of the mission to protect our country. --- ## **Description** Captivation Software is looking for a mid-level software engineer who will architect, develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems supporting critical environments. You’ll work across the full software development lifecycle, delivering scalable solutions for processing-intensive analytics, large data sets, real-time systems, and enterprise applications. You will collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and customers to design high-performing software solutions, evaluate technical trade-offs, and implement reusable, modular components that support multiple applications and mission needs—driving performance optimization, technical innovation, and long-term system sustainability. ### **You’ll be a great fit if you have experience with:** - Designing and developing full-stack software solutions - Solving complex performance and scalability challenges - Modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular) - Object-oriented development with Java and JavaScript - Designing modular, reusable software components - Balancing technical excellence with customer-focused delivery - Mentoring developers and influencing technical direction across teams --- ## **Requirements** ### **Security Clearance** - Must currently hold a **Top Secret/SCI** U.S. Government security clearance with a **favorable Polygraph** (all candidates must be **U.S. citizens**) ### **Minimum Qualifications** - Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline - **14 years** of experience architecting, developing, and maintaining software solutions, with an emphasis on performance optimizations ### **Required Skills** - Experience with all aspects of full stack development - Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular) - Experience developing software using object-oriented languages (Java and JavaScript) - Experience designing and developing modular, reusable software components - Familiarity with **Section 508** accessibility requirements - Experience working throughout the SDLC (design, testing, deployment, sustainment) ### **Desired Skills** - Experience developing web-based geospatial applications using tools such as **Leaflet.js** - Technical leadership / team lead / mentoring experience - Proactive technical customer service and stakeholder engagement - Experience optimizing solutions across multiple applications, teams, or technologies - Experience using **CI/CD** pipelines for consistent delivery --- **Note:** This position is open for direct hires only. We will not consider candidates from third-party staffing/recruiting firms. --- ## **Benefits** - **Annual Salary:** $130,000 - $270,000 (depends on years of experience) - Up to **20% 401k contribution** (no matching required; vested from day 1) - Above market hourly rates - **$3,600 HSA contribution** - **6 weeks** paid time off - Company-paid medical/dental/vision, life insurance, short-term & long-term disability, and AD&D
