**Senior DevOps Engineer (Hybrid) - AWS/Java/Linux/Ansible/Git/Python** ## Overview Captivation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced **Senior DevOps Engineer** to join a fast-paced development team. You’ll implement infrastructure, automate deployment processes, and ensure the reliability and scalability of services in a **hybrid environment** on customer site at **Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD (2–3 days/week)**. ## Responsibilities - Support development and deployment of infrastructure in **AWS** - Automate deployment processes and ensure reliability and scalability of services - Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure on **AWS** - Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into the infrastructure - Monitor and troubleshoot production systems; resolve issues as necessary - Continuously improve processes and tools for high availability and performance - Stay current with new technologies and industry trends - Other duties as assigned ## Requirements ### Security Clearance - **Current Secret U.S. Government Security clearance** required - **U.S. citizenship required** ### Minimum Qualifications - **9+ years** DevOps Engineering or Software Development **and** a Bachelor’s degree (or **7 years** with a Master’s; or High School Diploma/equivalent with **13 years** relevant experience) - Strong knowledge of **Linux** (administration and troubleshooting) - Proficiency with configuration management tools such as **Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet** - Knowledge of **AWS services** (EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) and how to apply them to deployment/infra management - Experience with application and OS deployment, scaling, and management - Ability to develop in multiple languages such as **Python, Bash, or Go** - Familiarity with **Git** and other development tools - Excellent problem-solving and ability to troubleshoot complex issues - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Understanding of **Agile** methodologies and standard software development tool suites - Must have **DoD 8140 / 8570** compliance certifications (e.g., **Security+**) - Must be able to work hybrid (avg. **2–3 days/week** in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD); flexibility required ### Preferred Qualifications - Experience with big data technologies such as **Hadoop, Spark, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, Presto**, etc. - Experience with containers (**EKS**, Diode), **CI/CD**, and **Terraform** (plus) - Potential on-call work ## Notes - **Direct hires only** — candidates from third-party staffing/recruiting firms will not be considered. ## Benefits - **Annual Salary:** $130,000 – $270,000 (depends on years of experience) - Up to **20% 401(k)** contribution (no matching required; vested from day 1) - **Above market hourly rates** - **$3,600 HSA contribution** - **6 weeks paid time off** - Company-paid **medical/dental/vision**, life insurance, short-term & long-term disability, and AD&D
