We’re an in-office company focused on excellence and velocity, guided by values including **Just Get It Done**, **Invent What Customers Want**, **Winner’s Mindset**, and **The Polymath Principle**. ### About the Role Decagon’s **Strategic Deals** are with the largest companies in the world. Each deal puts a Decagon agent in front of millions of users, handling hundreds of millions of conversations per year. In this role, you’ll own the **technical build for 1–3 Strategic Deals end-to-end**, operating like the founding CTO for each customer. You’ll work directly with the customer’s senior engineering and product leaders to determine what’s required for success—then decide what Decagon should build, ship, and productionize so the improvements benefit not only that customer, but the core product. You’ll be across all technical workstreams, including: - Infrastructure and agent build - Model evaluation and research - Reliability work to ensure production-grade performance You’ll also sit at the center of product strategy—your decisions influence both each deployment and the features that make it into the broader product. ### What You’ll Do - Own the technical build end-to-end for a handful of Strategic Deals (from **POC → close → post-close stabilization**) - Drive technical requirements with the customer’s engineering and product leaders; build technical champions within their organizations - Identify technical risks early and de-risk before they threaten the deal - Go beyond feature requests to the underlying problem; scope solutions that generalize and turn bespoke requirements into durable core product improvements - Set technical direction, own delivery, and mentor engineers on your team ### What You Bring - Strong engineering leadership (or ex-technical founder) with **5+ years** of software engineering experience - Strong appetite for customer-facing work - Comfort owning high-stakes accounts with significant ambiguity - Ability to quickly assess timelines, weigh technical risks, and choose paths under pressure - **Bonus:** experience productionizing agentic systems ### Compensation & Benefits - **$200K – $400K + Offers Equity** - Medical, Dental, and Vision (for you and your family) - Life Insurance and Disability Benefits - Retirement Plan (e.g., 401K, pension) - Parental Leave - Fertility benefits (and more)
