**CLEAR — Software Development Engineer II (Fullstack)** CLEAR is building the secure identity company of the future—making experiences safer and easier both physically and digitally. We’re looking for **Fullstack Software Engineers** to help build the next generation of CLEAR’s identity platform. Beyond verifying identity, you’ll help create a secure, networked digital identity that enables seamless experiences across travel, enterprise, healthcare, financial services, and beyond. --- ### What you’ll do - Design, build, test, and deploy **scalable full-stack applications** powering CLEAR’s identity platform. - Own projects **end-to-end** (technical discovery, architecture, implementation, rollout, and operational support). - Partner with **Product, Design, Data, Security, and Operations** to translate business problems into simple, scalable solutions. - Improve engineering excellence across **reliability, performance, testing, observability, and developer experience**. - Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve **scalability, security, and maintainability**. - Collaborate through thoughtful **code reviews**, technical partnership, and sharing best practices. ### What you’re great at - **3+ years** of professional full-stack experience building production applications (e.g., **Python, React, TypeScript**). - Strong fundamentals across **distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software architecture**. - Experience building and operating **cloud-native applications** using **AWS**, plus **Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and CI/CD**. - Proven ability to own complex, cross-functional projects from idea to production with a **bias for action**. - Excellent communication skills—able to explain technical concepts and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Comfortable working in ambiguity, making thoughtful tradeoffs, and driving work forward independently. - Collaborative mindset with a passion for improving engineering practices and delivering measurable customer/business impact. --- ### Process (typically ~3 weeks) Recruiter Call → Zoom Technical Screen → Onsite Panel Interviews → Final Manager Conversations → Offer --- ### Tech stack (overview) **Java / React / TypeScript** --- ### How you’ll be rewarded - Bright, energetic office environment with open concept and collaboration spaces - **Catered lunches daily** and fully stocked kitchens - Well-being and learning & development support (stipends and reimbursement programs) - Holistic total rewards including comprehensive healthcare, family-building benefits, flexible time off, wellness stipend, free OneMedical memberships (you + dependents), CLEAR Plus membership, and a 401(k) with employer match - **Total compensation range:** **$180,000 – $220,000** (base + annual bonus incentive + new hire equity in RSUs).
