**CLEAR — Software Development Engineer I (Digital Experience)** CLEAR is building the secure identity company of the future—making experiences safer and easier, physically and digitally. With 43M+ Members and a growing global partner network, CLEAR’s secure identity platform helps transform how people live, work, and travel. In this role, you’ll join the Digital Experience team to build and ship full-stack features on high-traffic CLEAR sites used by millions of members to enroll, manage membership, and book services. **Tech stack:** Java / React / TypeScript **What you’ll do** - Design, build, test, and deploy scalable full-stack applications powering CLEAR’s identity platform. - Own projects end-to-end—from technical discovery and architecture through implementation, rollout, and operational support. - Partner with Product, Design, Data, Security, and Operations to translate business problems into simple, scalable solutions. - Improve reliability, performance, testing, observability, and developer experience. - Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve scalability, security, and maintainability. - Collaborate through thoughtful code reviews and sharing engineering best practices. **What you’re great at** - 0–2 years of professional full-stack experience building production applications (e.g., Python, React, TypeScript). - Strong fundamentals across distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software architecture. - Experience building and operating cloud-native applications using AWS and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and CI/CD. - Proven ability to own complex, cross-functional projects and drive them from idea to production. - Excellent communication skills; able to explain technical concepts and influence technical + non-technical stakeholders. - Comfortable working in ambiguity, making thoughtful tradeoffs, and independently driving work forward. - Collaborative mindset with a passion for improving engineering practices and delivering measurable impact. **How you’ll be rewarded** - Bright, energetic office environment with open concept spaces, conference rooms, and co-working areas. - Catered lunches and fully stocked kitchens. - Learning & development support with stipends and reimbursement programs. - Comprehensive healthcare plans, family-building benefits, flexible time off, wellness stipend, free OneMedical memberships (for you and dependents), CLEAR Plus membership, and a 401(k) with employer match. - **Base salary range:** **$105,000–$125,000** (plus bonus and new hire equity in RSUs).
