About this role

## About ElevenLabs ElevenLabs is an AI research and product company transforming how we interact with technology. We launched in January 2023 with the first human-like AI voice model and now serve millions of users and thousands of businesses—from fast-growing startups to large enterprises. We’ve expanded from voice into three main platforms: - **ElevenAgents**: integrations, testing, monitoring, and reliability to deploy voice and chat agents at scale - **ElevenCreative**: tools for creators and marketers to generate and edit speech, music, image, and video across 70+ languages - **ElevenAPI**: access to our leading AI audio foundational models ## How we work - **High-velocity**: rapid experimentation, lean autonomous teams, minimal bureaucracy - **Impact over titles**: no task is above or beneath you - **AI first**: we use AI across the company to move faster with higher-quality results - **Excellence everywhere**: quality should match our AI models - **Global team**: we prioritize talent over location ## What we offer - Innovative culture and a generational opportunity to shape AI - Growth paths and learning support (annual discretionary stipend) - Social travel stipend + annual company offsite - Co-working stipend if you’re not near a main hub ## About the role (Full-Stack Engineer — Backend Leaning) **Core Platform** builds the foundations other teams rely on—how users, workspaces, and permissions work across our products. These systems sit on the path of every request and are relied on by millions of users and enterprise customers, so **correctness, security, and safe rollout** matter as much as speed. We’re hiring full stack engineers (backend leaning) for two focus areas. Depending on the team, responsibilities may include: ### 1) Workspaces & User Management (external customers) - Build and improve customer-facing building blocks: **API keys, login experience, analytics, admin tooling, workspace security**, and more - Partner with Sales, FDEs, and customer teams to turn enterprise and self-serve feedback into improvements - Ship features end-to-end (backend services through admin/settings UI) ### 2) Permissions & Resources (internal engineering teams) - Design and build generic **resource and permissioning services** product teams use to ship safely and quickly - Solve hard, largely greenfield problems at scale (e.g., access management for customers with massive agent fleets) - Drive adoption across product teams with changes that don’t force every team to rewrite ### In both teams, you will - Scope work within a large existing system (rollout risks, migrations, downstream impact) - Roll out changes safely with minimal disruption - Debug and operate what you build using customer reports, logs, and code - Own features from scoping to completion with mentorship from experienced engineers ## Requirements We don’t require formal experience, certifications, or degrees. We do require evidence that you’ve solved impressively hard problems (e.g., past projects or GitHub). You must have: - **Expertise in Python** - Strong **backend development** background, with comfort working across the stack when needed - Experience with common **software/system design patterns** and infrastructure (APIs, cloud tools, storage, data structures) - Strong **test design** and **security fundamentals** - Care and attention to detail when changing live, business-critical systems - Ability to learn a large existing codebase quickly - Comfort with
