Robinhood is looking for bold thinkers and sharp problem-solvers to help expand our products globally and scale our platform for millions of new customers in diverse markets. --- ## About the team + role The **International engineering team** builds and maintains experiences across onboarding, funding, account setup, localized product experiences, growth incentives, and platform capabilities to operate in new jurisdictions. As a **Senior Full Stack Software Engineer**, you’ll bridge high-performance frontend interfaces with resilient backend distributed systems. You’ll architect and deliver localized customer experiences—from multi-currency funding and international onboarding to regional asset trading—while upholding high standards for **security, availability, and compliance**. **Location:** New York City, Toronto, or Menlo Park (California). In-person attendance is expected **at least 3 days per week**. --- ## What you’ll do - **Full Stack Architecture & Engineering:** Build and maintain high-quality frontend interfaces (**React/TypeScript**) and scale robust backend services (**Go/Python**) - **Global Product Launches:** Own technical delivery for international capabilities including localized onboarding funnels, **KYC/AML**, multi-currency funding rails, and region-specific trading experiences - **Growth and User Acquisition:** Build and optimize growth mechanisms, localized promotion engines, and user acquisition pipelines - **Reusable Internationalization Platforms:** Create modular, scalable frameworks and **i18n/l10n** services to expand to new jurisdictions faster and more reliably - **System Reliability & Observability:** Ensure high availability, low latency, and fault tolerance; implement telemetry, automated testing, and participate in production on-call rotations - **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Partner with Product, Design, Compliance, Legal, and Platform teams to translate jurisdictional requirements into user-centric solutions --- ## What you bring - **5+ years** of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems across the full stack - **Frontend depth** with modern frameworks (e.g., **React, TypeScript**) with a focus on performance, accessibility, and state management - **Backend & distributed systems** experience (e.g., **Go** or **Python**), relational/NoSQL databases (e.g., **PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis**), and event-driven architectures (e.g., **Kafka**) - **Product ownership**: take complex features from ambiguity through design, phased rollout, production validation, and post-launch maintenance - **API & systems design**: RESTful APIs, **gRPC**, service-oriented architectures, and microservice integration patterns - **Communication & alignment**: articulate trade-offs and drive technical consensus across distributed teams --- ## What we offer - Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career - Performance-driven compensation (multipliers), bonus programs, equity ownership, and **401(k) matching** - Best-in-class benefits, including **100% paid health insurance** for employees (with **90% coverage** for dependents) - Lifestyle wallet (flexible benefits spending for wellness, learning, and more) - Employer-paid life & disability insurance, fertility benefits, and mental health support - Time off to recharge (company holidays, paid time off, sick time, parental leave,
