**Engineering Manager, Claude Platform** **About Anthropic** Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems—safe and beneficial for users and society. **About the role** Developers and enterprises build on Claude through the Claude Platform. As Claude’s intelligence grows, the APIs and developer tools must evolve just as quickly—so developers can use that intelligence safely. You’ll lead teams building APIs and infrastructure for running agents in production, alongside SDKs, docs, and tooling that developers (and agents) use to build high-quality integrations. These capabilities are supported by Anthropic’s identity, verification, and trust platform to scale access responsibly. **Key responsibilities** - Lead a team of engineers to ship high-quality work quickly, owning planning, prioritization, delivery, and operational health - Partner with product to set your team’s roadmap and bring a strong point of view on what developers need - Talk to customers directly and turn learnings into engineering priorities - Guide API design and architecture decisions for distributed systems that must remain reliable as usage grows - Collaborate with Research, Safeguards, Security, and go-to-market teams to bring new model capabilities to developers safely - Recruit, coach, and grow strong engineers **Minimum qualifications** - Experience managing high-performing software engineering teams shipping developer products (hiring, coaching, performance management) - Product-minded and customer-oriented; shaped roadmaps alongside product partners - Built and scaled distributed systems in production; strong technical depth for architecture and API design - Led teams that ship quickly while maintaining a high quality bar - Collaborate well across functions and can align teams you don’t manage - Care about Anthropic’s mission and developing AI safely **Preferred qualifications** - Experience building agent infrastructure or products on top of LLMs - Experience with identity, verification, access control, or trust and safety systems **Compensation** - Annual Salary: **$405,000 – $485,000 USD** **Logistics** - Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience) - Required field of study: Field relevant to the role - Location-based hybrid policy: In one of our offices at least **25%** of the time (some roles may require more) - Visa sponsorship: Yes—Anthropic sponsors visas, though not for every role/candidate - Deadline to apply: **None** (rolling review) - Location preference: Preference for candidates based in **NY, SEA, SF, or the Bay Area** **Safety note** Anthropic recruiters only contact candidates from **@anthropic.com** email addresses.
