We’ve led the Subscription Economy for more than a decade, and we’re evolving again by building the definitive platform for quote to cash. ## The Opportunity Zuora’s UI Platform team builds the shared React and TypeScript component library and design system that power customer-facing applications—delivering a consistent, accessible, modern experience across the product suite. We’re looking for a **Senior Frontend Engineer** to evolve the platform and help engineers move faster with AI by building reusable AI-assisted development workflows and automation. You’ll also contribute feature code in customer-facing applications. ### In this role, you’ll: - Design and build reusable, accessible, well-tested **React + TypeScript** components and the tooling around them - Contribute to product feature code alongside the shared platform, building and shipping UI for Zuora’s customer-facing applications - Take ownership end to end, using AI-assisted development to deliver high-quality UI quickly with minimal hand-holding - Evolve the design system: tokens, theming, documentation, versioning, and adoption across multiple application teams - Partner with Design on pixel-accurate, accessible implementations and with product teams on adopting shared components - Review code contributions to uphold standards for quality, performance, and accessibility - Improve developer experience via **Storybook**, automated and visual regression testing, and release tooling - Build and maintain AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., reusable skills, agents, automation) - Use AI coding tools daily and help refine team practices for AI-assisted development - Mentor engineers and share knowledge across a globally distributed team ### Location / Work model This is a **hybrid** role based in **Foster City, CA**. You’ll work onsite **three days per week**. **Not fully remote.** ### Tech Stack React, TypeScript, Material UI (MUI) and Emotion, Vite, Vitest, Storybook, Chromatic, Playwright, GraphQL, single-spa micro-frontends, Web Components, Cursor, Claude Code ## About You - **6–10 years** of professional software engineering experience, primarily front-end - Expert-level **React + TypeScript**, with strong HTML, CSS, and accessibility (WCAG) fundamentals - Experience building reusable, themeable component libraries (Material UI or comparable) - Experience with **Storybook** and automated testing, including unit and visual regression testing - Working knowledge of design-system practices (tokens, theming, documentation, backward compatibility) - Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor or Claude Code) and AI-assisted development workflows - Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and package publishing - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across functions and time zones - A self-starter who can ship quickly with AI tools without sacrificing quality ### Nice to haves - Experience building AI developer tooling (skills, agents, MCP servers) and evaluating outputs - Experience with Web Components, micro-frontends, or embeddable widgets - Background in enterprise SaaS, billing, or financial systems - Experience building
