**About Wing** Wing offers drone delivery as a safe, fast, and sustainable solution for last mile logistics. Wing is part of Alphabet (Google’s parent company) and our mission is to create the preferred means of delivery for the planet. **About the Program** - **12-week paid summer internship** - **Hybrid / in-person** program based in **Palo Alto, CA** - **Start dates:** May or June - **Eligibility:** current student in a degree program and intends to return after the internship **About the Role (Software Engineer Intern — Commerce Team)** The Commerce team designs and maintains the platform and software infrastructure powering drone delivery operations that connect partners with end-users. Key focus areas include: - **Partner Delivery Platform (PDP):** APIs and service integrations for commercial partners - **Marketplace:** consumer-facing web and mobile ordering apps - **Partner Integrations:** e.g., custom adapters for partners like Walmart - **Logistics Systems:** manage the end-to-end delivery lifecycle **In this role you will:** - Design, build, and support **scalable APIs**, backend services, and user interfaces connecting partners (e.g., Walmart) with end-users - Work with **production-grade cloud technologies**, **microservices architectures**, and modern development tools for high-volume transactions - Gain hands-on experience across the **full end-to-end software development lifecycle** - Collaborate with a talented, distributed engineering group delivering impactful drone logistics solutions - Develop deep industry expertise in commercial drone delivery **What you’ll need:** - Currently enrolled in a **Bachelor’s or Master’s** program in **Computer Science, Engineering, or related field** (expected graduation **Dec 2027 – Aug 2028**) - Hands-on programming experience with one or more core languages such as **Java, C++, Python, or Go** - Solid understanding of fundamental software engineering principles and **API development** concepts - Ability to identify complex problems, devise creative solutions with mentorship, and independently drive tasks to resolution - Excellent **verbal and written communication** skills and a collaborative mindset **Salary Range (US base)** **$128,000 — $135,000 USD** (plus benefits) **Equal Opportunity** Wing is an equal opportunity employer and complies with applicable nondiscrimination laws.
