Wing designs, builds, and operates its aircraft and offers drone delivery services on two continents. **About the Program** - 12-week paid summer internship - Hybrid, in-person program based in Palo Alto, CA - Start dates in May or June - Must be a current student enrolled in a degree program and intend to return after the summer internship **About the Role (Data Infrastructure Software Engineering Intern)** The Data Infrastructure team builds foundational systems that manage the vast data generated by Wing’s global fleet of autonomous aircraft. In this role, you’ll design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that collect, process, and store aircraft telemetry and logs—making flight data securely accessible for analysis, machine learning, and AI. As an intern, you’ll take ownership of a critical project that helps engineering and flight operations teams better understand aircraft performance and debug issues across the fleet. **In this role, you will:** - Take ownership of a scoped engineering project to design, develop, and test a service that addresses a real-world challenge for Wing - Collaborate cross-functionally with experienced software engineers, aerospace engineers, and flight operations teams to integrate diverse data sources and improve how we view the aircraft fleet - Gain hands-on experience optimizing batch or interactive services and building reliable, scalable data systems in a production environment - Work with massive, real-world datasets generated by a global fleet of delivery drones **What you’ll need:** - Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (graduating between Dec 2027 and Aug 2028) - Demonstrated coding experience with one or more languages: C++, Java, Python, Go, and/or JavaScript - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work on challenging problems, identify potential solutions with guidance, and execute with a high degree of independence - Strong examples of previous engineering experience (internships or extracurricular projects) **Salary Range (US base)** - **$128,000 — $135,000 USD** + benefits **Equal Opportunity** Wing is an equal opportunity employer and complies with applicable nondiscrimination and equal opportunity laws.
