**Retail Technology Systems Engineer** Sweetgreen is on a mission to build healthy communities by connecting people to real food. Our Retail Technology team owns the configuration, stability, and security of the technology running in every sweetgreen restaurant—from POS and payments to kitchen displays, connected kitchen equipment, and Infinite Kitchen locations. **What you’ll do** - Implement, upgrade, and support restaurant technology across the fleet, including PAR Brink POS, PAR Payment Services card readers, KDS, and connected kitchen equipment for both existing restaurants and new openings. - Build and maintain standardized device images and configurations in Microsoft Intune for POS, kiosk, BOH, KDS, iPad, and time clock endpoints; release patches, enhancements, and fixes across restaurants. - Build integrations and automations between restaurant applications using REST APIs, Workato, PowerShell, and Python to reduce repetitive operational work. - Monitor restaurant system health, resolve incidents, identify recurring patterns, and serve as the escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams. - Partner with Software Engineering, Security, Networking, Operations, Marketing, Digital, and vendor partners to evaluate new hardware/capabilities, manage vendor escalations, and prepare for product launches. - Keep restaurant systems secure and PCI-compliant; maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and SOPs for support teams and fellow engineers. **Desired traits** - Energized by new technology and able to apply it to real restaurant operations. - Analytical problem-solver who can make sound decisions under pressure. - Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences. - Strong relationship builder across internal teams and with vendors. - Organized and reliable as priorities shift. - Keeps up with industry trends and brings new ideas. - Understands how technology shapes the experience of team members and customers. **Desired experience** - 5+ years of restaurant or retail technology experience (ideally supporting a multi-unit fleet across in-restaurant, digital, and third-party marketplace orders). - 3+ years of hands-on device/endpoint management (Microsoft Intune preferred), including configuration, software deployment, and security patching. - Experience administering a restaurant POS platform (PAR Brink preferred; Oracle Simphony, Toast, or similar also relevant), plus knowledge of payment terminals, KDS, printers, mobile devices, and networking equipment. - Scripting experience in PowerShell or Python; comfort with REST APIs and integration tools such as Postman and Workato (exposure to .NET/C# is a plus). - Experience with Datadog, ServiceNow, and incident/on-call workflows; working knowledge of PCI security standards. - Plus: Cisco Meraki, Jira, Confluence, remote support tools, restaurant automation/robotics; CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+. **What you’ll get** - Highly competitive pay + bonus plan - Three medical plan options - Dental and Vision insurance - Flexible PTO - 401(k) - Employee HSA and FSA - Complimentary greens - Opportunity to make a real impact - Collaborative team and clear career path - Free sweetgreen swag **Salary range** - $105,000 – $150,000 USD (starting salary range based on experience) *Sweetgreen provides equal opportunities for all employees and applicants.*
