## About the Team DoorDash is a data-driven organization that relies on timely, accurate, and reliable data to power business and product decisions. The Core Data Platform organization owns the infrastructure needed to run an operationally efficient analytical data stack. ## About the Role The Data Platform team spans data mobility frameworks, ingestion, infrastructure, tools, and governance. Together, they design and operate scalable compute and ingestion frameworks using technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, Airflow, and modern lakehouse solutions. They also build abstractions and tools that simplify data workflows for engineers, analysts, and ML practitioners. In parallel, they establish strong data quality, cataloging, privacy, and compliance standards to ensure trust in analytics and regulatory adherence. As a high-impact team, this role offers the opportunity to shape the roadmap, influence core platform decisions, and directly enable DoorDash’s business-critical insights and real-time personalization capabilities. **Location requirement:** You must be located in **San Francisco, CA; Sunnyvale, CA; Seattle, WA; or New York, NY**. ## You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… - Drive vision and strategy for building the frameworks charter and positioning it to handle challenges of a rapidly growing business. - Scale the analytical platform for increasing data volumes and use cases. - Build and operate high-scale systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency. - Collaborate with stakeholders building solutions on top of the platform. - Foster a positive, supportive work culture and help uplift others. ## We’re excited about you because you have… - B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science (or equivalent). - 2+ years of industry experience in software engineering. - Proficiency using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) across the full software development lifecycle (design, code generation, testing, monitoring, and release). - Experience in big data domains (streaming, batch, data lake OLAP) and promoting real-time insights and analytics at scale using technologies such as Apache Kafka, Flink, Spark, Cassandra, ClickHouse, Iceberg, etc. - Prior technical experience in big data infrastructure and governance (bonus if open-sourced technologies like DataHub, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Flink). - Experience improving efficiency, scalability, and stability of data platforms. - Located in (or willing to relocate to) the Bay Area, Seattle, or New York. ## Compensation & Benefits (Summary) - **National base pay range:** **$130,600 – $192,000 USD** (base salary localized by work location). - Additional compensation may include **equity grants**. - Comprehensive benefits include **401(k) with employer matching**, **16 weeks paid parental leave**, wellness and commuter benefits, **paid time off and paid sick leave**, and medical/dental/vision coverage, plus other programs and holidays. ## About DoorDash DoorDash’s mission is to empower local economies.
