Candidates must be located in NYC and come into the office **three times a week (Tue/Wed/Thu)**. You’ll lead a team of backend engineers building product features and maintaining a healthy, reliable platform. This is a **hands-on** role: design, code, and review alongside your team while shaping how we build software in an **AI-first** engineering organization. Your team owns backend services powering the Fubo user experience across a **microservices architecture**, supporting squads across Product, Design, and Engineering. You’ll direct your team’s work where it’s most impactful, grow engineers’ careers, and guide backend contributions from partner teams. You’ll own a team at the center of Fubo’s platform, partnering with Engineering Managers in the US, France, and India to define a shared technical vision. You’ll report to an Engineering Manager in NYC and work closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical plans. **Responsibilities** - Own the success and long-term vision of the backend services layer by designing APIs that drive the frontend user experience - Prioritize work to ensure on-time deliverables and high-quality software - Provide hands-on technical leadership (system design, coding, code review, mentorship) - Own health, reliability, and performance of the systems your team builds - Use AI tools and new processes to improve speed and quality for you, your team, and the org - Lead recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding in partnership with Talent Acquisition - Partner across Engineering, Product, Design, and other teams to achieve shared goals **Requirements** - 8+ years software engineering experience and 3+ years leading medium to large engineering teams - Proven experience building large-scale distributed systems with SOA or microservices architecture (preferably **Golang**) - Experience with caching, circuit-breaking, distributed traces, and load testing - Experience in CI/CD environments and test automation strategies - Experience with relational databases - Experience with monitoring and observability tools - Strong verbal and written communication - Self-driven, proactive, curious team player who collaborates cross-functionally with a win-win mindset **Our Tech Stack** - Go / Golang - Docker and Kubernetes - Google Cloud Platform - Datadog **Perks & Benefits** - Influence what live media looks like after its next big transformation - Highly competitive compensation based on experience and market standards - Robust benefits: Health/Dental/Vision, 401k, Life Insurance, commuter benefits - Free Premium Fubo Account - Unlimited PTO and regular company-wide activities - HQ in Midtown Manhattan; offices in Paris and Bangalore - Fubo is an e-verified company **Compensation (NYC)** - Minimum base salary: **$200,000/year** - Maximum base salary: **$250
