Our U.S.-based team is lean, mission-driven, and growing quickly. ### About the Role As a **Senior Backend Engineer**, you’ll join a talented engineering team and be expected to **independently own your product workflow**—from initial design requirements through deployment. You’ll move aggressively, commit code daily, and see your work in the wild with live users. You’ll help identify problems, architect high-quality solutions, and thrive in ambiguous situations where the path isn’t fully defined yet. You take pride in your craft, communicate clearly, absorb feedback well, and learn from mistakes. You enjoy ownership and aren’t stifled by large organizations. ### What You’ll Do - **Design and build** scalable services and APIs to drive existing and new features for web applications. - **Architect and maintain** robust backend systems, database models, and infrastructure powering the platform. - **Analyze product requirements** and deliver high-quality, production-ready code with a focus on reliability and performance. - **Maintain system health**: refactor, improve the codebase, and keep systems resilient. - **Support end-to-end delivery**, including jumping into frontend code when needed. - **Be autonomous**: take full ownership and accountability for every detail. - **Collaborate** with engineers and cross-functional partners (product/design) to improve user experience. - **Write clear specs** to enable stress-free deployment. - **Drive large releases** to production on a continuous deployment cadence. ### What You Bring to the Table - Experience in a **startup environment**. - **5+ years** of relevant backend experience, with some frontend exposure. - Strong fundamentals in **API design, database architecture, and distributed systems**. - Expertise in **TypeScript/Node** and backend frameworks. - Comfort with **React** and frontend technologies (able to contribute when needed). - Ability to build **performant, scalable systems** that power great user experiences. - Strong communication skills to influence product direction and collaborate effectively. - **Extreme bias toward action** and execution. ### Tech Stack - **TypeScript** across all applications - **NestJS** + **TypeORM** - **Postgres** - **Redis** - **GCP** - **React** (when needed) - Custom UI library built on **shadcn** + **Tailwind** ### Location Requirement Applicants must be **based in the United States**. ### Fraudulent Recruitment Advisory Solace Health will **NEVER** request bank details or offer employment without an interview.
