**Engineering Manager, Merchant Knowledge Platform** ## About the Team The Merchant Knowledge Platform team (part of DoorDash’s Merchant organization) builds the systems that serve merchant, store, menu, and catalog data to experiences across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo. The platform connects merchant information to the experiences people rely on every day—from discovering stores and searching for products to placing orders. The team is building the next generation of this global platform to support growing data volumes, new product capabilities, and AI-powered experiences. ## About the Role DoorDash is looking for an **Engineering Manager** to lead a team of engineers building and operating a platform at the core of the global marketplace. You’ll own the team’s technical direction and roadmap, partner with engineers on architecture and design decisions, and support their growth. You’ll also work cross-functionally to understand needs, set priorities, and build shared capabilities that make merchant data reliable and efficient to access at scale. **Location requirement:** You must be located in the **New York Metro Area** for this **hybrid** position. ## You’ll Be Excited Because You Will… - Shape the technical vision and roadmap for a global merchant data platform supporting consumer and merchant experiences across three companies. - Guide the design of distributed systems serving large volumes of data with high availability, low latency, and consistent performance. - Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to turn shared needs into reusable platform capabilities and make clear priority/tradeoff decisions. - Support, coach, and develop engineers with a range of experience to grow technical skills and ownership. - Improve platform reliability and engineering practices, and help the team use AI tools to learn, build, and deliver more effectively. ## We’re Excited About You Because You… - Have experience managing engineers, including coaching, performance management, and supporting career growth. - Have led technical projects and can guide architecture, review detailed designs, and help teams navigate complex implementation decisions. - Have experience building and operating large-scale backend or platform systems, with strong distributed systems, data access patterns, and reliability knowledge. - Can set technical roadmaps and balance immediate partner needs with long-term platform investments. - Can connect technical decisions to business outcomes and communicate priorities, tradeoffs, and expectations across teams. ## Compensation & Benefits (Summary) - Starting pay falls within the listed range and is determined based on job-related factors (including skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions). Base salary is localized. - Equity grants may be included. - DoorDash offers a comprehensive benefits package (e.g., 401(k) with employer matching, paid parental leave, wellness and commuter benefits, paid time off and paid sick leave, medical/dental/vision, paid holidays, disability and basic life insurance, and more). - National base pay range (US, including IL and CO): **$193,800 — $285,000 USD**. ## About DoorDash DoorDash’s mission empowers local economies.
