## Senior Automation Engineer - Ansible ### Responsibilities - Develop automations and enable infrastructure self-service across Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations. - Work across multiple service automation engagements to automate high-priority tasks, services, and end-to-end workflows. - Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation solutions using **Ansible** (playbooks, roles, modules, workflows) for complex, secure enterprise environments. - Execute the full automation project lifecycle: requirements gathering → deployment → maintenance/support → hand-over. - Build advanced automation scripts using **Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell** to meet complex business requirements and improve operational efficiency. - Develop and maintain **RESTful APIs** using modern frameworks (**FastAPI, Flask**) to orchestrate automation workflows and integrate diverse enterprise systems. - Build and optimize **Infrastructure as Code (IaC)** with **CI/CD pipelines**, version control best practices, and automated testing. - Collaborate in **Agile / Scaled Agile** environments with cross-functional teams (infrastructure, security, service teams). - Apply secure coding practices and ensure compliance with enterprise security policies and applicable banking regulations. - Document solutions, create runbooks, and maintain knowledge base articles. - Provide technical support, troubleshoot production issues, and participate in on-call rotation as needed. - Stay current with emerging automation technologies; contribute to standards, best practices, and governance. ### Qualifications - **8+ years** with BS/BA; **6+ years** with MS/MA; **3+ years** with PhD. - Strong experience across the end-to-end enterprise software development lifecycle, including automation maintenance and support. - **Advanced Ansible expertise** (playbooks, roles, modules, workflows) for complex/secure environments. - **Advanced scripting** skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell. - **API development & integration** experience building RESTful APIs (FastAPI/Flask) and orchestrating automation workflows. - **IaC** proficiency: version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks. - Multi-platform knowledge: **Linux/Unix**, **Windows**, and cloud platforms (**AWS/Azure**). - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. - Experience with automation orchestration platforms (e.g., **ServiceNow, ARIA**) is a plus. - Experience in **Agile / Scaled Agile** environments. - Knowledge of secure coding standards and banking environment is a plus. - **US Citizenship required**; must be able to obtain a **Public Trust clearance**. ### Peraton Overview Peraton is a next-generation national security company providing trusted, differentiated solutions and transformative enterprise IT services for government missions. ### Target Salary Range **$104,000 - $166,000** (typical range; final offer depends on factors including experience, education, location, and business/contract considerations).
