Learn more: https://getclair.com/about --- ## Role: Senior Fullstack Engineer, Core Products As a Senior Software Engineer on the Core Products team, you’ll go beyond converting tickets into pull requests. You’ll operate like a Product Manager—owning the full feature lifecycle, measuring post-launch business outcomes, and designing systems with downstream impacts in mind (e.g., data pipelines and analytics). You’ll also lead the adoption of AI-native engineering practices across the team—leveraging modern models, building autonomous agents, and embedding agentic workflows into both core product architecture and internal development processes. This role sits at the intersection of fintech, embedded finance, and real-time payroll systems—building products that handle millions of transactions with sub-second performance. --- ## What You’ll Do - **End-to-End Product Ownership:** Partner with design, product, and data to define technical strategy, challenge assumptions, and evaluate trade-offs before writing code. - **Build with AI & Agents:** Architect and deploy features using AI models and autonomous agentic workflows; integrate modern AI tools to improve velocity and user experience. - **System-Wide Architecture:** Design resilient systems with latency, scale, downstream data consumers, and telemetry in mind—ensuring clean, actionable events for data pipelines. - **Measure Business Impact:** Own features after launch—instrument key metrics, monitor dashboards, investigate post-release gaps, and iterate based on real user behavior and business outcomes. --- ## What You’ll Need - **Technical Excellence:** Experience building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade, cloud-native applications. - **Agentic Workflows & AI Native:** Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted workflows for rapid, high-quality code generation. - **Product & Business Acumen:** Prioritize user impact over technical cleverness; hold yourself accountable to business metrics (conversion, retention, operational cost). - **Systems & Data Mindset:** Strong understanding of event-driven architectures and how transactional systems feed analytical data pipelines. - **Fullstack Development:** Ability to work across the stack and fully own a product/feature. **Tech stack (required/expected):** - **Frontend:** React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), Expo (React Native) - **Backend:** Laravel (PHP) *(some experience ideal, but not required if you can demonstrate scalable backend expertise)* - **Databases:** PostgreSQL - **Infrastructure:** AWS - **Collaboration & Communication:** Exceptional communication skills in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. - **Travel:** Occasional travel for company onsite/project planning (typically 2–4 trips/year). --- ## Bonus Qualifications - Experience with financial technology platforms and payroll systems. - Experience in lending, payments, BNPL, ACH, etc. is highly valued. --- ## Why Join Clair - **Massive impact:** Enable millions of workers to access wages instantly. - **Challenging, meaningful work:** Solve hard fintech problems at scale. - **Autonomy & ownership:** Own features end-to-end and influence architecture and product
