## Infrastructure Automation - IaC (Infrastructure-as-Code) Engineer ### Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain reusable infrastructure automation that provisions and manages infrastructure, tenant environments, and platform services across hybrid environments. - Transform approved infrastructure patterns into source-controlled, repeatable, scalable automation for consistent provisioning across cloud and on-prem. - Build reusable Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or comparable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions. - Create standardized environment and tenant templates based on approved deployment patterns. - Maintain infrastructure definitions in source control with peer review and controlled change processes. - Implement versioning, testing, rollback, and lifecycle-management practices for infrastructure automation. - Integrate infrastructure automation with CI/CD pipelines and service-request workflows. - Support ServiceNow-driven provisioning where approved, including execution patterns for highly secure environments. - Automate repeatable configuration activities across networking, compute, storage, identity, logging, and security. - Develop validation and compliance checks to ensure provisioned resources meet approved configuration requirements. - Troubleshoot provisioning failures and improve automation based on recurring issues and operational feedback. - Develop and maintain automation across AWS classified cloud, other cloud environments, and on-premises infrastructure. - Partner with Hybrid Cloud / Kubernetes Engineers to translate approved infrastructure patterns into reusable automation modules. - Support repeatable tenant onboarding and lifecycle-management processes. - Apply software-engineering practices (source control, peer review, testing, versioning, controlled releases) to infrastructure automation. - Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to ensure automation aligns with architecture and operational requirements. - Document automation patterns, dependencies, and operational procedures for maintainability and knowledge transfer. ### Location - Fully onsite in **Chantilly, VA** ### Qualifications **Required** - Active **TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph** - ~**5–8 years** experience in infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, automation engineering, or related technical discipline - **5 years with BS/BA** (additional **4 years** may be considered in lieu of a degree) - Strong experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code - Demonstrated experience with **AWS** and **Linux** environments - Experience with **Git-based** development workflows and **CI/CD** pipelines - Strong scripting skills using **Python, Bash, PowerShell**, or comparable languages - Experience troubleshooting automated provisioning, configuration, state, and dependency issues - Strong understanding of infrastructure automation, repeatability, version control, and controlled change practices **Desired** - Terraform - AWS CloudFormation - Ansible - GitLab CI/CD - Kubernetes and Helm - Experience supporting AWS classified-region environments - ServiceNow or API-driven provisioning integration - Experience developing reusable infrastructure modules or tenant-provisioning frameworks ### Peraton Overview Peraton is a next-generation national security company delivering trusted, differentiated solutions and enterprise IT services for missions of consequence across the globe. ### Target Salary Range - **$112,000 – $179,000**
