About this role
**Deployment Support Technician — Kargo** Kargo is building a connective tissue between the physical world of freight and the digital systems that manage it. Our loading dock sensor platform verifies incoming and outgoing freight, enabling shippers and carriers to manage dock operations and understand material flow in real time. **Responsibilities** - Provide remote technical support to Field Operations Technicians during hardware installations, repairs, and maintenance. - Monitor deployed hardware, investigate system alerts and device downtime, and troubleshoot issues to maintain reliable operations. - Create and maintain SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation. - Identify recurring issues and inefficiencies; develop solutions and automate repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency. - Partner with software engineers to troubleshoot technical challenges, improve internal tools, and translate field feedback into actionable requirements. - Pilot new internal tools and workflows with Field Operations, gather feedback, and support continuous improvements. **Experience / Qualifications** - 0–2 years in a hands-on technical role (IT support, field service, electronics repair, hardware testing, or lab operations). Internships, bootcamp training, and technical projects welcome. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Technical certifications such as CompTIA A+ (or relevant coursework), a plus. - Working knowledge of at least one scripting or query language (Python, SQL, Bash, or PowerShell). Ability to write simple queries and read table structures. - Automation mindset—prefer scripting over repeating the same task; willing to do the unglamorous work until it’s automated. - Strong communication skills; able to collaborate with field technicians and software engineers. - Troubleshooting experience with hardware devices, networking connectivity, or IoT systems, a plus. - Experience working with technical equipment, sensors, or embedded devices, a plus. *Kargo is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace.
