About this role

## About Clay AI Clay is building the engine that helps companies grow to their full potential—predicting the next best action and enabling personalized go-to-market campaigns (emails, ads, landing pages, and workflows). Clay already supports thousands of customers, including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and Visa. Clay is hiring a **GTM Engineer – Systems and Infrastructure** to build and maintain the core GTM infrastructure that keeps revenue motion running reliably as the company scales. --- ## What You’ll Do - **Design and build** Salesforce objects, flows, validation rules, reports, and dashboards for GTM teams. - **Build and maintain CPQ + billing workflows** in Salesforce, ensuring clean handoffs between sales, finance, and post-sale teams. - Act as the **primary Salesforce builder** for cross-functional teams (Sales, Tech Partnerships, CX, Finance, and more), translating process needs into technical solutions. - **Extend Clay** into new use cases; feed product ideas back to the team and evangelize Clay infrastructure and GTM Engineering. - **Engineer Clay’s internal instance** for maximal scale and reliability, helping lead and model this practice for the market. - Create **protocols for observability and debugging** to maintain high uptime. - Partner with GTM leaders and frontline teams to understand how the revenue motion works—and where it breaks. - Identify opportunities to **automate and redesign workflows** using better systems design and AI. - **Design for data quality** with validation, governance, and structure the GTM stack can rely on. - Connect Salesforce to adjacent systems via **APIs, webhooks, and automation layers**. - **Document** what you build so others can understand, trust, and extend it. --- ## What We’re Looking For - **6–10+ years** in a combination of Technical RevOps, GTM Engineering, SRE, or a similar applied technical discipline. - **3+ years** in RevOps/Sales Ops or GTM Engineering (or equivalent). - Proven ability to build and problem-solve using **Python, JavaScript, SQL, SOQL, or TypeScript** (this team pulls its own data). - Experience partnering with data engineering on core pipelines (data warehouses, BI tools, or event-driven systems). - Hands-on experience building/connecting core systems like **Salesforce** and adjacent GTM systems, including CS tooling such as **Gainsight, Vitally, or ChurnZero**. - Deep hands-on Salesforce experience: **Flows, custom objects, validation rules, triggers, reports**, plus experience building/maintaining **CPQ and billing workflows**. - Strong hands-on ability with **APIs, webhooks, and cross-system workflow design**. - Ability to operate effectively in **ambiguous, hypergrowth** environments (embrace and drive change). - Experience building in **Clay** as a primary workflow/enrichment layer is **not required but preferred**. **Bonus points** - Analytics engineering, data science, and/or additional programming experience. - Salesforce Administrator/Developer/CPQ Specialist certification. - Experience as a software/infrastructure engineer. --- ## Why This Role Is Different This is **not** a traditional Salesforce admin role. Clay is GTM infrastructure, and the discipline you help pioneer will resemble **applied site reliability engineering using Clay**. You’ll be a **builder** who turns messy business processes into clean, reliable systems GTM teams can depend on—treating Salesforce as a product that must be maintained and improved over time.
