You’ll manage a team of GTM Engineers while staying hands-on—writing code on the hardest problems, setting direction, and ensuring every automation you ship measurably improves how we sell. You’ll partner closely with our Head of Sales to translate messy business problems into elegant technical solutions, and you’ll develop engineers who think like builders. --- **What You’ll Do** - **Build the automations that matter:** Own core sales workflow systems like **book carving**, **ROE automation**, **signal detection**, and **pipeline intelligence**—staying hands-on with the hardest technical problems and highest-leverage projects. - **Push Clay to its limits:** Dogfood new features, extend the platform into new use cases, feed product ideas from the field, and act as a practitioner-evangelist for Clay infrastructure and GTM Engineering. - **Partner with sales leadership:** Sit with the Head of Sales and sales leaders to understand where the motion breaks, translate fuzzy requirements into crisp technical roadmaps, and confidently say no to low-impact work. - **Manage the work, not just the people:** Build intake and prioritization frameworks that create transparency, align ad-hoc requests to strategy, and keep the team focused on impact over activity. - **Develop engineers who think like builders:** Hire, manage, and grow a team of **3–5 GTM Engineers**; mentor them from ticket-takers to strategic problem-solvers who own outcomes. - **Establish engineering excellence:** Set the bar for **code quality**, **documentation**, **observability**, and **system governance**; create growth paths aligned with each engineer’s strengths. - **Ship systems that scale:** Design tooling that surfaces the right context at the right moment (before QBRs, during renewals, ahead of expansions). Connect systems through **APIs**, **webhooks**, and automation so data flows cleanly. - **Measure what matters:** Track performance, adoption, and business impact—then iterate ruthlessly based on feedback. - **Shape the future of AI-native GTM:** Be an internal thought partner on where revenue systems are headed; bring technical depth and commercial judgment to strategic conversations. - **Build a high-performing team (the Clay way)** --- **What You’ll Bring** - **8+ years** building revenue systems (RevOps, GTM Engineering, sales systems engineering, or similar applied technical work). You’ve personally written code—not just managed vendors. - **Technical leadership:** Strong proficiency in **Python, JavaScript, SQL, or TypeScript**. You can review PRs, debug production issu
