In 2026, Clay raised a $115M Series D and is on track to cross $200M in revenue this quarter. **THE ROLE** Clay’s engineering team and codebase are growing quickly, requiring continued investment in tooling and infrastructure. As coding agents advance, the hardest engineering challenges aren’t just writing code—they’re everything around it: context, environment, validation, testing, and safely integrating changes into production. Clay is expanding its infrastructure team to build systems where coding agents can: - Understand the full context of a codebase - Execute development tasks end-to-end - Safely integrate their work into production This role spans developer tooling, infrastructure, and agent execution systems—shaping how software gets built at Clay. **WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON** You’ll design and build developer experience that powers the next generation of software engineering at Clay, helping both engineers and coding agents be dramatically more effective across the full development lifecycle. Potential areas include: - Monorepo organization, orchestration, and tooling - CI/CD pipelines, including evaluation and validation of agent-generated changes - Cloud dev environment exploration - Exposing rich codebase context to coding agents (including parallel agents, automated refactors, migrations, and bug fixing) - Metrics and dashboards; organizing forums and feedback loops **WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE** - Clay engineers move faster with less friction - Coding agents operate with deep context and make meaningful changes safely - The development environment adapts quickly as new AI capabilities emerge - Engineering productivity compounds as more of the software lifecycle becomes automated - A collaborative relationship with engineers to resolve friction points **WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR** You may be a great fit if you: - Have experience building developer tooling, infrastructure, or internal platforms - Care deeply about developer experience and engineering productivity (removing obstacles) - Enjoy designing systems that automate complex workflows - Are excited about how AI will transform the software development lifecycle - Write clean, maintainable code and enjoy owning systems end-to-end **WHY THIS ROLE IS UNIQUE** AI models can generate code, but making it useful in real production requires deep integration with developer workflows, infrastructure, and codebase context.
