**About Affirm** At Affirm, we exist for the moments that matter—giving people a clear, predictable way to pay over time, with no hidden fees, no surprises, and no tradeoffs on what matters most. **Role Overview** The Marketplace and App Experience domain is a main pillar of our core consumer strategy, driving the user journey across our frontend surfaces: **Mobile and Web**. Teams span multiple products and areas, starting with the **Home hub** in the app or website and expanding into the various product offers and journeys users can take. In this role, you’ll lead **front-end facing cross-team projects**, working closely with engineers across mobile and web technologies, and collaborating with product experience teams at Affirm. --- **What You’ll Do** - Break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver in multiple phases, and collaborate to ensure timely delivery. - Partner with **Product Management, Design, and Analytics** by participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and making decisions that consider risks and trade-offs. - Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and helping with “keep the lights on” and on-call efforts. - Contribute to team community through growth and development activities, including participation in the interview process. --- **What We Look For** - **1.5+ years** of experience as a software engineer. - Experience shipping **web apps** using declarative UI frameworks like **React** or **Vue**. - Experience shipping **mobile apps** using native or cross-platform languages like **React Native**. - Experience designing, developing, and launching **APIs at scale** using languages like **Kotlin** or **Python**. - Ability to take a simple problem/business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple components—writing clear, well-tested, extensible code. - Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging others’ code, and providing feedback through code reviews. - Demonstrated ownership of growth—proactively seeking feedback from your team, manager, and stakeholders. - Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team. - Requires either equivalent practical experience or a **Bachelor’s degree** in a related field. --- **Compensation & Location** - **Base Pay Grade:** N - **Equity Grade:** 9 - **USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT):** $195,000 - $255,000 / year - **USA base pay range (all other U.S. states):** $173,000 - $233,000 / year Affirm offers a transparent total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health/wellness/tech spending, and benefits including **100% subsidized medical coverage** (plus dental and vision for you and your dependents). **#LI-Remote** --- **Remote-First & Benefits** - **Remote-first with flexibility:** Most roles can be done from almost anywhere within the country of employment.
