## Windows System Administrator (DOL ITOM) ### Responsibilities - Provide Windows systems expertise in a **multi-tenancy** environment for services including **Active Directory**, **System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)**, and **virtualized Windows machines** (Hyper-V and VMware). - Coach and mentor junior team members. - Create reporting solutions and reports for team and customer needs. - Work with engineering groups to deliver value to customers. - Ensure security and management of **Windows servers and desktops** across non-production and production environments. - Solve complex integration and technical problems in a fast-paced environment. - Collaborate with other system administrators, DBAs, and application developers to resolve system issues. - Escalate and liaise with additional groups as needed to achieve resolution. - Investigate and troubleshoot incidents and **root causes** (problem management). - Create, review, maintain, and update documentation; facilitate knowledge sharing. - Plan and execute releases into the managed environment. - Provide input into **Business Continuity Planning** and practices. - Support major planned events (e.g., power down, disaster recovery). - Respond to **Severity 1 and 2** escalations. - Develop and maintain Windows platform services for servers connected to multiple clients. - Test and certify new Windows OS versions; improve integration with platforms such as VMware and SharePoint. - Integrate server automation via custom scripts or third-party solutions. - Perform regular server health checks (hardware/software). - Maintain and support multi-site Windows environments and configurations. - Manage server migrations when required. ### Qualifications **Basic Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree with **5+ years** experience, **or** Associate’s degree with **7+ years**, **or** High school diploma/GED with **9+ years**. - **U.S. Citizenship** - Ability to obtain and maintain a **Public Trust** clearance. **Required Experience / Skills** - 5+ years supporting **Windows Server** operating systems. - 5+ years in **patch management** with deep knowledge of Microsoft and other vendor practices. - 3+ years supporting **Citrix** environments. - 3+ years experience with the **Microsoft BI stack** (SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS). - 2+ years participating in **CAB meetings** and approval flow for production changes. - Strong knowledge of **PowerShell scripting**. - Experience deploying, migrating, and supporting core Microsoft technologies at scale (e.g., Active Directory, DFS-R/DFS-N, Printing, System Center suite including Configuration Manager/Operations Manager/Orchestrator, WSUS, Failover Clustering). - Expert in design, installation, and configuration of Windows OS and applications (e.g., Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, Windows 10). - Expert in design, installation, configuration, and management of **Virtual Desktop Infrastructure** (Hyper-V). - Ability to architect and design an **AD transformation** to maximize AD efficiency. - Strong troubleshooting skills for servers, workstations, and user experience issues with COTS and custom applications. - SCCM expertise for software patch management in a multi-tenancy environment. - Ability to architect, develop, and maintain documentation reflecting current and future operational environments. ### Salary Range - **$66,000 – $106,000** (typical range; final offer depends on factors including experience, education, location, and contract considerations). ###
