## Sr. Software Engineer — Provider (Remote) ### About the Role At Rula, we believe mental health is just as important as physical health. We’re building accessible, evidence-based, and compassionate mental healthcare—remote-first, with hiring across most U.S. states (currently not hiring in Hawaii). We’re seeking a **Senior Software Engineer** to join our **nascent Provider Onboarding Engineering team** within the Provider organization. In this high-impact role, you’ll serve as the **chief architect** for a new scope, driving **product-based implementations** that enable new capabilities for **Provider Onboarding** across both internal and external-facing users and workflows. You’ll help lead both: - **Product architecture** - **Operational, process-based solutions** You’ll build robust custom tools and leverage top-tier industry solutions to improve Provider Onboarding across **pricing, payments, client panel, and forms**. ### Required Qualifications - **4+ years** of Software Engineering experience - **1+ year** working on **Healthcare** or equivalent systems - **1+ year** helping with a **brand new project or team** - Experience working on **cross-functional teams** bridging technical and non-technical groups - **Fullstack** experience building modern **database-backed** web applications (**SQL/NoSQL**) - Experience with **microservice development** - Experience mentoring others, reviewing architectures, and establishing design patterns - Experience driving all phases of the development lifecycle: **planning, specing, execution, and measuring success**, plus post-launch maintenance - Experience working on highly complex projects with a focus on **sustainable results** ### Preferred Qualifications - Startup experience - Experience developing **SaaS** applications using **AWS** - Experience in products with high reliability/accuracy requirements (e.g., finance, mission critical systems) - Experience with **on-call**; ability to deep dive complex issues and drive resolution independently - Experience with **Node.js**, **TypeScript**, **Kafka** ### Benefits (Full-Time Employees) - **100% remote** work environment (must be based in the United States; not hiring in Hawaii) - Attractive pay and benefits with **full transparency of pay ranges** - Comprehensive health benefits: **medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA** - **401(k)** plan access - Generous time-off, including **2 company-wide shutdown weeks** each year (for most employees) - **Paid parental leave** (birthing, non-birthing, adopting, fostering) - **Employee Assistance Program (EAP)** - **Quarterly department stipend** for team-building/in-person gatherings - Community and employee resource groups - **Home office stipend** + **$50/month** for internet or cell phone expenses - **Wellness at Rula** program with **$50/month** wellness stipend ### Our Team Rula is committed to **diversity, equity, and inclusion**, building a culture where employees feel safe, seen, heard, and valued.
