**Discord — Senior Engineering Manager (Nitro)** Discord is looking for a **technical, hands-on, mission-focused Senior Engineering Manager** to join our **Consumer Revenue** team. You’ll be responsible for building and scaling our **Nitro** product and organization, leading a team of engineers across platforms to deliver revenue-driving products and services. --- ### What you’ll be doing - Build highly-engaged teams by hiring, coaching, and instilling ownership and impact. - Work cross-functionally with **Finance, Customer Experience, Product, Design, and Marketing** to define vision and roadmap based on customer and business needs. - Use technical expertise to raise the bar and ensure extraordinary results at a high technical level. - Develop insights into issues slowing the team and create processes that enable goal delivery. - Mentor and guide engineers through coaching and identifying opportunities aligned to their skills and goals. - Make sound resourcing decisions and clearly communicate rationale to partners and team members. - Partner with Revenue leadership on strategic planning and continuously improve the Engineering organization while upholding Discord’s workplace philosophy. ### Who you are - **5+ years** of experience as an **Engineering Manager**. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively cross-functionally. - Motivated to help team members succeed; experience developing engineers across multiple levels. - Approaches problems from first principles. - Comfortable with ambiguity; excited to collaborate on complex problems and execute. - Strong product sense and pride in understanding customers. - Uses experiments for data-informed decisions; energized when metrics move (even by 1%). - Code doesn’t scare you—you’re still an engineer even if you don’t do it all the time. - Keeps up with industry trends and can assess new technologies. --- ### Compensation (US) The US base salary range for this full-time position is **$304,000 - $380,000 + equity + benefits**.
