You’ll be responsible for delivering world-class financial infrastructure to nonprofit users, maturing engineering practices, and growing a team of skilled engineers. This is a **hands-on** management role: you’ll ship code, review PRs, make architectural decisions with real context, and stay close to production (monitoring, incident response, and understanding how your systems behave in the wild). You’ll report directly to the **VP of Engineering** and help execute the product vision while building a scalable engineering culture. --- ### What You’ll Do - Collaborate with the VP of Engineering to develop and execute the **Treasury engineering strategy** - Lead, manage, and mentor a team of **full-stack engineers** building Givebutter Wallet features, payment tools, and financial dashboards - Own the Treasury engineering function: set technical direction and ensure alignment with company objectives - Drive development of **same-day ACH transfer tools**, **card issuing systems**, and **QuickBooks integration** - Build and maintain financial infrastructure that helps nonprofits **move money faster** and **put funds to work** - Evolve Givebutter’s financial systems with an emphasis on **security, reliability, and growth** - Improve internal engineering workflows and champion **code quality** and maintainable, scalable solutions - Evaluate and apply **AI/ML tools** to drive innovation in financial product development --- ### What You’ll Bring - **7+ years** of full-stack development experience with modern web technologies (e.g., React, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP/Laravel) - Hands-on experience designing and building **scalable fintech/financial systems** (ideally including payment processing, ACH, card issuing, or accounting integrations) - **2+ years** managing a team of **5+ engineers** - Strong understanding of **financial compliance, security requirements, and data integrity** in regulated environments - Proven people management, mentorship, and clear communication - Demonstrated success hiring and developing **remote engineering teams** - Experience in a **product-led growth** environment is a plus --- ### Why Join Givebutter’s Engineering Team - **Code Democracy:** Every engineer has a voice; open discussion on architecture and technical ideas - **Autonomy & Focus:** Minimal meetings and uninterrupted time to dive deep - **Seamless CI/CD:** Fully automated deployment pipelines - **Mission-Driven Work:** Support nonprofits and organizations making a real difference --- ### Remote Work & Benefits (Highlights) - **Remote work** from one of 10 hubs: Austin, Denver, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, Seattle, Nashville - **Medical, Dental, Vision** covered 100% for employees (plus HSA/FSA) - **Dependent care** premium coverage (50% for eligible dependents) - **TalkSpace** mental health
