If you’re motivated by building at the edge of what’s possible, this is your moment. --- ## The Role This is a **hands-on corporate security and IT internship** working with the Security team, which also manages **security, compliance, and IT** for the company. - Work directly with the **Head of Security** and the **Security Engineer** - **Part-time: ~20 hours/week** around your class schedule - Own **bounded projects end-to-end**, ship them, and **demo** to the engineering org --- ## How You’ll Contribute - **Google Workspace administration**, device management, and the **SaaS access lifecycle** (onboarding, offboarding, and access reviews that stand up in an audit) - Run **access-review** and **device-compliance** checks, and **automate** repeat work - Keep compliance green by helping remediate failing **Vanta** tests and **automating evidence collection** - Triage inbound **security and IT requests** from employees for **one shift/week** (mentor reviews every response) - Write **runbooks** and **triage notes** that an engineer (or an AI agent) can use - Use **AI tools** (e.g., Claude Code) as a first resort to scale your work and push toward automated production jobs --- ## What You Need to Succeed - **AI-first mindset** (use the best tools to scale beyond yourself) - Junior or Senior at a **US college/university** in **computer science or a related program** - Scripting ability in **Python (or similar)**—you’ve written something that calls an API and performs a task - Working knowledge of **identity** in companies: **SSO, MFA, directory groups, least privilege** - One concrete example you’ve administered or secured (e.g., Google Workspace, home lab, campus help desk, CTF infrastructure, part-time IT) - Clear security writing—share something you wrote (lab writeup, README, blog post, how-to) - Availability: **20 hours/week during the school year**, with at least **4 hours overlap** with US business hours on **3+ days** - **Authorized to work in the US**; **no visa sponsorship** --- ## Bonus Points - CTF participation, bug bounty writeups, or a GitHub with real projects - Help desk / campus IT / MSP experience - Exposure to compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001) via coursework or a job --- ## Why Join Eight Sleep? - **Innovation in a culture of excellence** - **Immediate responsibility** and accelerated growth—own projects with real impact - Collaboration with exceptional talent - Equitable compensation and continuous equity investment - **Your own Pod** (plus benefits such as health/vision/dental, supplemental life, flexible PTO, commuter benefits, and paid parental leave—benefits vary by location) Eight Sleep is an **equal opportunity employer** and is committed to inclusive hiring and fair employment practices.
