**Omada Health — Engineering Manager (Member Experience)** ## Job Overview Omada Health is on a mission to bend the curve of chronic disease. We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to run a squad that builds Omada’s member-facing systems. A squad owns problems from prototype to production—including maintenance and the on-call rotation for what it ships. You own the squad: what it works on, in what order, and how the people in it grow. As an Engineering Manager, you ship code alongside your builders. You own execution and run the squad’s rituals—iteration shaping, prioritization, backlog grooming, and estimation—making the calls with a clear point of view on the tradeoffs and partnering with stakeholders to work through problems as they surface. You partner closely with a Product Strategist who prototypes and owns what the squad should build and why. You own whether the squad can deliver it, at what cost, and by when. You set the quality bar and operational standard for your squad. ## About you - You’re accountable for what your squad ships, and you still write code. - You’re a product engineering leader with strong opinions about the product you own. - You understand the “why” behind the work and own the “what” and “how.” - You have a hands-on, practical view of where AI-assisted development helps vs. where it creates rework. - Above all, you’re enthusiastic about providing the best possible care for members and building a great engineering team. ## What you’ll be doing - **Own the squad’s delivery:** sprint shaping, prioritization, backlog grooming, and estimation. - **Own cycle time:** improve it without sacrificing quality, and explain changes when they happen. - **Ship code:** production work every sprint, off the critical path, using the same agent workflows as your squad. - **Partner with your Product Strategist:** align scope so the squad isn’t answering the same questions in conflicting ways. - **Grow your engineers:** lead with strong, supportive management. - **Own operational health:** on-call rotations, MTTR, and post-incident analysis. - **Escalate early, often, and precisely:** bring tradeoffs and recommendations backed by data. - **Hire the next generation of AI-augmented Omadans:** build careers with co-intelligence. ## What you need for this role - **6+ years** in software engineering, including **2+ years managing engineers** (or equivalent experience leading delivery for a team you were accountable for). - A track record shipping mission-critical software to production and owning it afterward. - Experience owning prioritization and estimation, including saying no / not now and explaining why. - Experience giving direct developmental feedback, including supporting someone through underperformance. - Currently shipping (or recently shipped) production code in at least one layer of the stack (backend, web frontends, iOS, or Android) with enough breadth to review architecture decisions. - Comfort with an **expert-generalist** model and the ability to name risks and opportunities it brings. - Hands-on experience directing AI agents through real-world production changes, with a considered view on where they help vs. create rework. - Understanding of **CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and telemetry** at a level where you can validate your squad’s operational story. - Excellent written communication. ## Technologies we use Ruby on Rails, Python (Flask, FastAPI), React, native iOS (Swift, SwiftUI), native Android (Kotlin), Pos
