**Staff Frontend Software Engineer - Payments and Checkout** **About Breeze** Breeze is building the AI-powered infrastructure layer for global commerce. We combine global payments, AI, stablecoins, and a Merchant of Record-like model to handle compliance, risk, fraud, chargebacks, reconciliation, and customer support. Backed by Sequoia Capital, Multicoin Capital, and The Chainsmokers. **The Role** Own and shape the checkout experience at Breeze. You'll lead frontend architecture for our payment flows, building fast, seamless, and resilient checkout experiences. This high-ownership role combines frontend engineering with product and growth, working closely with Product, Design, Growth, and Payments teams. At the Staff level, you'll set technical direction, raise architectural standards, and mentor engineers. **What You'll Do** • Own end-to-end frontend architecture for checkout and payment flows • Improve conversion rates through UX improvements, performance tuning, and experimentation • Build seamless flows for complex payment states (retries, failures, 3DS authentication) • Optimize Core Web Vitals and frontend performance • Collaborate with backend and payments teams on API integration • Build robust UI systems for high reliability during transactions • Define frontend best practices and architecture standards • Mentor and lead the frontend team **What We're Looking For** • 7+ years of frontend engineering experience in fast-paced environments • Deep hands-on experience building and optimizing checkout or payment flows • Strong proficiency with React, Next.js, and performance optimization • Experience with experimentation, analytics, and UX iteration • Strong product intuition and data-driven mindset • Familiarity with payments infrastructure (Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, 3DS, tokenization) • Excellent collaboration and communication skills • Plus: Experience with global payments, multi-currency, or crypto **Benefits & Perks** • 100% employee health insurance premiums, 75% dependent coverage • 21 days PTO + company holidays • Meaningful equity • MacBook Air and equipment budget • Annual office & education allowance • Monthly wellness reimbursement • Annual global offsite **Work Location** • NYC: Hybrid (3 days/week in office) • Singapore: On-site (5 days/week) **Why Join** Meaningful ownership in a successful, well-capitalized company.
