**Senior Software Engineer — Breeze** At Breeze, we’re building the AI-powered infrastructure layer for global commerce—making it radically simpler for businesses to sell, get paid, and operate across markets. We go beyond traditional payment processing by combining global payments, AI, stablecoins, and a Merchant of Record-like model to handle complexity businesses typically manage themselves, including compliance, risk, fraud, chargebacks, reconciliation, and customer support. --- ## Overview We’re looking for a **Senior Software Engineer** to help build and scale the technology powering Breeze. As our first senior engineer in our **New York City** office, you’ll have a hands-on role with real ownership—tackling complex engineering challenges, shipping customer-reliable products, and helping shape technical decisions as we scale. You’ll work across the stack, partner closely with Product and Design, and have room to improve how we build. --- ## What You’ll Do - Build and scale the core payment systems powering Breeze, with a focus on **reliability, security, and performance** - Ship high-quality customer experiences using **React.js** and modern **serverless** infrastructure - Own meaningful features end to end—from **technical design and architecture** through launch and iteration - Shape both product and technology by bringing an engineering perspective to product decisions - Partner across **Product, Design, Operations**, and other teams to turn complex payment challenges into simple, scalable solutions - Help raise the engineering bar by improving how we build, move quickly, and scale as Breeze grows --- ## What We’re Looking For - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience - **7+ years** of software engineering experience (fintech, payments, or fast-paced startup preferred) - Strong modern frontend experience, including **React.js** (or similar) - Proven ability to own and deliver complex features and systems with strong problem-solving and attention to detail - Deep understanding of scalable, reliable systems, with exposure to **cloud-based or serverless** infrastructure - Product-focused mindset and passion for building thoughtful, high-quality experiences - Strong communicator who collaborates effectively across Engineering, Product, Design, and cross-functional teams - Builder mentality with curiosity, adaptability, and ownership in a fast-moving startup - Cryptocurrency or blockchain experience is a **plus** --- ## Compensation & Benefits **Base salary (New York):** **$155,000–$210,000** - Range reflects the minimum and maximum annual base salary Breeze expects to pay at posting. - Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, and qualifications. - For candidates outside New York, compensation is based on applicable market/location. - Base salary excludes commission (if applicable), equity, and benefits. **Benefits & perks include:** - **Health coverage:** Breeze covers 100% of employee premiums and 75% of dependent premiums - **PTO:** 21 days + applicable company holidays - **401(k):** Breeze covers all plan administration fees - **Equity:** Meaningful ownership - **Equipment:** New MacBook Air + whatever else you need - **Office & education allowance:** Annual budget for workspace, tools, and professional development - **Wellness:** Monthly reimbursement - **Annual global offsite:** Previous destinations include Bali and Singapore (Japan coming next) Breeze is an equal opportunity employer and c
