**Breeze — Full Stack Engineer (Junior)** ## Overview Breeze is building the AI-powered infrastructure layer for global commerce—making it radically simpler for businesses to sell, get paid, and operate across markets. We’re hiring a **Junior Full Stack Engineer** to help design, build, and ship **user-facing payment products**, turning complex financial workflows into experiences that feel **simple, fast, and reliable**. This is a **hands-on, product-focused** role where you’ll contribute to meaningful projects from day one—writing production code, solving real customer problems, and using AI tools to accelerate how you build and learn. ## What You’ll Do - Build and scale **user-facing fintech products** powering Breeze’s payments platform - Use **AI coding tools** (e.g., Claude Code) to scope, plan, and execute large projects across a multi-service codebase - Break down ambiguous, multi-week projects into **shippable milestones** and manage your own execution - Own features end-to-end: technical design → implementation → iteration based on user feedback - Work full stack using **React.js + TypeScript** (frontend) and **Node.js + TypeScript** (backend) - Partner with **Product and Design** on requirements, UX decisions, and technical tradeoffs - Design **secure, scalable, high-performance** systems for payments and financial contexts - Collaborate with **Risk, Compliance, and Operations** to meet regulatory and operational needs - Communicate clearly with stakeholders and contribute to product planning/prioritization - Participate in **on-call / engineering runner rotations**: triage production alerts and merchant-facing issues through resolution ## What We’re Looking For - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent practical experience) - **2+ years** of professional software engineering experience (fintech/payments/startups preferred) - Experience building **product-driven, user-facing applications** - Fluent with **AI coding tools** and able to scope work, navigate large repos, and ship faster without sacrificing quality - Familiarity with AI tooling such as **agent tooling, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering**, etc. - Solid full stack experience with **React.js, Node.js, and TypeScript** (or similar modern frameworks) - Product mindset: care about usability, customer experience, and business impact - Strong problem-solving and ability to own features from concept to launch with minimal supervision - Excellent communication and comfort working cross-functionally - Familiarity with scalable, reliable systems and modern web architectures - Comfortable operating in fast-moving environments without an established playbook - Builder mentality with a strong bias toward action - Comfortable getting into the details and doing the work ## Nice to Have - Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup - Exposure to payments, financial APIs, risk systems, or crypto/blockchain products - Experience working in large, established codebases or multi-service architectures ## Compensation & Benefits (Summary) - **Base salary (NYC): $115,000 – $135,000** (actual offer depends on experience/skills) - Range excludes commission (if applicable), equity, and benefits **Benefits & perks include:** - Health coverage: 100% employee premiums; 75% dependent premiums - PTO: 21 days + applicable company holidays - 401(k): Breeze covers plan administration fees - Equity: meaningful ownership - Equipment: new MacBook Air + tools needed to do y
