About this role

## IT System Administrator (Lvl 1) ### Overview Maintain, upgrade, and manage server operating systems, software, hardware, and servers. Install and configure software and hardware; manage network servers and technology tools. Monitor performance, maintain systems per requirements, troubleshoot issues and outages, and ensure security through access controls and backups. Upgrade systems with new releases and models, develop expertise to train staff on new technologies, and maintain an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies. ### Qualifications - **Education:** Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science or related field (experience may be considered in lieu of degree) - **Experience:** 2 years in a network environment ### Additional Skills / Abilities - Proven experience as a System Administrator, Server Administrator, or similar role - Experience with databases, networks (LAN/WAN), and patch management - Knowledge of data backup/recovery systems and methodologies - Ability to create automation scripts for system activities, upgrades, or changes (individual or enterprise-wide) - Experience installing/configuring **ESX hosts** and troubleshooting **VMware** - Knowledge of and experience maintaining operating systems/platforms (Windows, Linux, AIX) - Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills - Excellent communication skills - Knowledge and experience in advanced network system design and access technologies - Ability to analyze, coordinate, and manage multiple technologies and concepts - Strong organizational, technical, and managerial skills - Expertise with LAN and WAN environments - Strong people skills and communication - Experience with project management and establishing protocols for system development ### About Us Build your career with **Huntsville Hospital**, **Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children**, and **Madison Hospital**—a locally governed, nonprofit health system committed to the communities we serve.
